Stranger Things on Netflix would be a good one if you haven't already seen it. There are 2 seasons.

Mrs. BEvans and I were discussing "Northern Exposure" from the 90s and how much we enjoyed it, especially the first few seasons. It's hard to find! Not available on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime, and not available to check out in 2 different local library systems. I wonder if it's like WKRP in that they couldn't clear the rights to the music they used. Regardless, I'd love to see it again.

Ooh, I'm not sure about that for a 4-year old. Probably most things will go right by her, though.

Reminds me of the time when my wife went to New Orleans to visit her sister on some birthday or other event, and I was left with the kids when they were small. I thought it would be a good thing to watch the movie, "Vacation." I forgot it was rated "R." I lost my Dad of the Year award that year. I don't remember how old they were, but pre-teen. Not good.

It is tough. She wants to watch something so bad with me. But you dont realize the content of some shows until you watch them with kids.

Nothing currently showing in the G-rated venue according to my search. Here's a list of some PG movies that are currently playing.

^^^Does she watch Looney Tunes? I loved it as a kid and it's pretty educational in a common sense sort of way.

Well the Nathan James is putting the band back together to save the world...again. On the finale season of The Last Ship.

Looks like the Colombians are making a bid to take over the world this time.

In the previews of the next episode, I think it was the president that said, “The world needs Tom Chandler”

Just watched Smokey & The Bandit on Amazon Prime. Been a long time since I've seen the unedited version with Jackie Gleason's colorful language. Good stuff.

The blu-ray comes with extras and one of the things I found to be amazing was they only used three Trans Ams in making the movie and they were constantly borrowing parts from each due to how hard they were driven. The movie itself was largely ad lib. They tried out several actors for the Buford T Justice role but most everyone agreed Jackie Gleason was their guy.

Stumbled over some freaky stuff on YouTube. It's called The Real Eyes Wide Shut and it's loaded with conspiracy allegations against the ultra elite. I can't do it justice here so if you're curious feel free to check it out.

Here's a link to an article referencing the post above. I can't remember the first time I saw the movie but it wasn't at the theater. Probably on HBO or something similar. I found it interesting but not very well fleshed out so far as plot. The article and the YouTube video sheds some light.

Amazon's Marvelous Mrs. Maisel came close to sweeping the Emmys in the comedy category: best show, best actress, best supporting actress, best writing and best director. I think "Silicon Valley" and "Brockmire" are the best comedies going, but Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is very good, too, and I was glad to see it recognized. Season 2 starts soon.

Glad to read that. I hate it when I love a series and have to wait more than a year for a follow-up season. Read today that Blacklist won't air again until January.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)

There's a movie called Shenandoah that came out in '65 starring James Stewart and set in the Civil War. It's a great movie with old fashioned values and great dialogue.

Charlie Anderson: No, no. You just said you loved her. There's some difference between lovin' and likin'. When I married Jennie's mother, I-I didn't love her - I liked her... I liked her a lot. I liked Martha for at least three years after we were married and then one day it just dawned on me I loved her. I still do... still do. You see, Sam, when you love a woman without likin' her, the night can be long and cold, and contempt comes up with the sun.

Currently, I can't find a hard copy but you can buy or rent at Amazon Prime Video.

First one is one of my favorite movies.

2 doesn't really fit in but is fun. Basically a re-write bc Vin Diesel bailed

After that, they start to replace story with more car chases and stunts. Not as good IMO but still pretty fun to watch.

Started bingeing "Jack Ryan" last night. got thru 2 episodes and like it a lot. Of course it is hard picturing Jim Halpert as a CIA operative/analyst after leaving Dunder Mifflin
