They seemed to think it would be an entertaining joke. I think they're wrong. Doesn't bother me or anything, but fail to see how it's entertaining or funny. I'm sure people there felt really bad for them, and based on that tweet that is the case.

If the girl says no, nine times out of ten it is fake. This isn't the first, nor last time, that someone will do a fake proposal as a PR stunt or as a comedy joke.
