    Don Rickles dead at 90

One of the all-time greats and a real original. (And apparently a real sweet guy, too.)

If you get a chance, check out the documentary "Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project" by John Landis on Netflix. Great insight on the man and also an era in America that's long past. RIP.

On a whim late yesterday I watched a Dean Martin celebrity roast on YouTube and he was on it. I think that generation was the best in my lifetime.
Cool as a rule, but sometimes bad is bad.

I still get a kick out of those. In fact the Foster Brooks roast of Rickles is one of my favorites. Man it's funny. Of course Brooks always cracked Dean Martin up completely.

I used to watch CPO Sharkey late night as a kid, I stayed up late a lot and it got on CBS late. Lot of McCloud and Columbo and such too.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

His best stuff is, IMO, when he went on Carson or Letterman.

Worth looking up on Youtube for those interested.

All time king of ultra-sarcasm and it's not even close.

    Loved me some Don Rickles.
