    Earbuds/Headphones/Speakers For Ears??

I know we've been through this before, but here we go again (I hope).

I need something to exercise with. One of the buds went dead in my skull candy ear buds. I'm guessing from getting wet with sweat, but who knows.

I'm just using my iPhone music so I realize the sound quality is only as good as what's putting it out. I would like something mid priced with good sound quality.

Since my skull candy died I'm currently using the buds a stewardess gave me on a flight... they work nothing special.

I do have a life proof case on my phone which is water proof but I don't see the need to get water proof ear phones unless they're worth having so sweat doesn't kill them.

    What say you???

Xiaomi makes some excellent headphones. You have to be careful because there are a good number of fakes, but the real ones sound very good and the durability is top notch. Just but either direct from Xiaomi or an authorized source. I have a set of Piston III which have lasted a year and a half of daily abuse without any major issue. I sit on them, use them many times a day, wrap them and unwrap them, etc. The cloth cable cover is frayed but they still haven't failed.

I've had these for over 5 years:

They're ugly and the sound is average, but they are true workhorses and are great for yardwork and working out because they fit snug on the ears.

I've purchased 3 sets of Bluetooth earbuds since, and they either wouldn't stay in my ears, stopped charging or stopped working in one ear. I keep going back to these.

They've discontinued that model but here's something similar by the same manufacturer.

To expand more on what I said yesterday, it also depends on the style of music that you listen to:

Xiaomi Piston III - $15. Rock, Bluegrass, Country, Spoken Word - these have a more balanced sound profile, though they tend to roll-off in the deep bass. I have these and find them VERY VERY versatile and more importantly they can really take abuse. I can't say enough good about them. Their one drawback is they are very very neutral in sound. Good if that's what you want, because they are crystal clear, but bad if you want a heavy punch to your deep bass.
Xiaomi Pro HD - $23. These supposedly have a much richer bass and treble profile, more suitable for Blues, Jazz, Hip-hop, Dance. I just ordered a pair of these to check out the sound because I would like a bit richer bass.

For sound quality, I haven't seen a pair of bluetooth headphones that I really really liked. Most had some sort of compromise on sound quality, usually especially apparent on complex tracks or percussive instruments like cymbals. I have heard some of the newer bluetooth codecs and headphones do a better job but they tend to me much higher in price than my budget.

For lack of a tether, such as while working out, there are huge benefits to bluetooth that can outweigh the reduced sound quality.

I've got some wired earbuds for regular use, but as you suggest, I use the bluetooth for exercising. I use the Malone QY8 bluetooth earbuds which are fine for the use, but the sound quality is a bit lacking.
