Winston Guy suspended 4 games for testing positive for something stupid
If it's over the counter then why is it banned? I swear the NFL and the NCAA should tell it's players just to stay away from GNC if it's that serious
RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks rookie safety Winston Guy has been suspended for four games without pay for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The league announced the suspension Tuesday. He will begin the suspension immediately and will be eligible to rejoin Seattle's active roster Dec. 17.
Guy's agent, Greg Linton, says the positive test was the result of an ingredient found in an over-the-counter supplement that his client took. He says Guy has no intentions of appealing his suspension and called it an innocent mistake.
Guy, a sixth-round pick out of Kentucky, has been active for only two of 10 games this season.

Okay, I am calling BS here. Just like Jeremy Jarmon, these guys go through almost endless counselling with staff and team nutritionists who go over the do's & don'ts of this stuff, ad naseum. If these guys are too stupid to watch what they ingest then I have zero sympathy for his plight.
As Forrest Gump says, "stupid is as stupid does! "
Re: Winston Guy suspended 4 games for testing positive for something stupid
One article suggests that some of the over the counter supplements have items that are not always disclosed, because they are unregulated. But, I understand and share your skepticism. There is great pressure for these guys to get what they can while they are able, including cutting corners to get it.
Of course, we start with the Kentucky (18-6) – Florida (10-14) series. But we also want to watch Tennessee (17-7) at Vanderbilt (11-13), Mississippi...
