"The $3.5 trillion conundrum," by Hillary Clinton

Taxes raised by $1.3 trillion by her tax plan.

Still $2.2 trillion short in paying for her policy agenda.

To the extent Trump has a plan, it's stinky, too.

I'm convinced that history will look back at the opportunity our nation had to enact the Simpson-Bowles plan and judge both sides of the aisle harshly. I'm afraid it was the last chance to enact a bipartisan plan that passed the straight-face test. It was just too painful for both sides and required each to give on core dogma. No way it was going to be accepted in today's politically-charged climate. So the President thanked them for their hard work and it died a quick death. Good luck enacting common-sense reform now.

Wouldn't be bad if everybody paid their fair share but instead the rich will pay for it while 1/2 the nation continues to pay no income tax, AND the rich will be demonized because they can't pay for all of it

It's worse than 1/2 not paying, but that 1/2 is where the bulk of the tax dollars are spent.

The worst park is the votes they have which is why they get the freebies, they are on the democrat plantation and their new slave owner, the democrats. Much like the plantation owners of the 1800's , they give their slaves free food, free housing, free medical, terrible schools, and now free phones, free after school babysitting. Their slave owners today also screw the slaves they want. The difference is the salves back then couldn't leave the plantation and today they refuse to leave the plantation.
