2017 Targets - VIDS
Trae Young 6'1 170lbs
247 = #3 PG / #21 overall
Rivals = #3 PG / #13 overall
Scout = #3 PG / #26 overall
I look for his stock to rise into a solid top 10-15 ranking after the summer.
Michael Porter Jr 6'9 210
247 = #1 SF / #4 overall
Rivals = #1 SF / #2 overall
Scout = #1 SF / $5 overall
He's my personal favorite in the class. Says he wants to play with Young, has strong family ties to Missouri and Washington.
Hamidou Diallo 6'5 180lbs
247 = #2 SG / #10 overall
Rivals = #1 SG / #10 overall
Scout = #1 SG / #9 overall
Long and pushes the ball to score.
Jarred Vanderbilt 6'8 200lbs
247 = #3 SF / #11 overall
Rivals = #3 SF / #11 overall
Scout = #1 PF / # 11 overall
Versatile player whom many consider a lock to UK.
Nick Richards 6'11 235lbs
247 = #2 C / #21 overall
Rivals = #5 C / #19 overall
Scout = #8 C / #20 overall
St Patrick's high school of MKG and Dakari fame, we're heavy favorites here.

Kris Wilkes 6'7 190lbs
247 = #4 SF / #17 overall
Rivals = #4 SF / #12 overall
Scout = #3 SF / #13 overall
Can you tell that Cal wants a SF in this class? Would love to pull out this Hoosier.
PJ Washington 6'7 220lbs
247 = #11 PF / #29 overall
Rivals = #5 PF / #23 overall
Scout = #4 PF / #23 overall
Was at Prime Prep before leaving to Findlay Prep, we visited recently
Kevin Knox 6'8 195lbs
247 = #2 SF / #7 overall

DeAndre Ayton 7'0 240lbs
247 = #1 PF / #1 overall
Rivals = #1 C / #1 overall
Scout = #1 C / #1 overall
Consensus #1 player in the class, the world is his oyster if he plays his cards right

Re: 2017 Targets - VIDS
Great job, Hoss. I think right now UK most likely gets:
C Richards
F Vanderbilt
PG Trae Young
SG Diallo
Wing Petty
Real shot at Porter
Duke will be right there for the #1 class:
Bamba
Knox
Trent (though not a Duke lock)
Wendel Carter
Ayton may never play in college but will be a Kansas lean till then.

I'd agree with that.
Sooo...our 2017/2018 team would look like
1. Young
2. Diallo
3. Petty
4. Vanderbilt
5. Richards
6. Matthews
7. Wynyard
8. Humphries
9. SKJ
10. Gabriel?
11. Porter could make or break this team???
We're going to need some more players...lol...might be a rebuilding year?

Re: 2017 Targets - VIDS
Thanks, Hoss! Great work on getting those videos.
I'm also nearly weeping at the thought of getting a true SF. I will be a happy man. Such a versatile position and tool for a team's arsenal of weapons having a guy that can handle the ball, rebound, shoot inside or out, guard anybody, etc.

Cal will sign 7-8 players this spring. We will be very young and very talented.
Same ole....same ole

I would love to see Cal get Vanderbilt! What a beast that kid is and has a great handle for his size. Some of those blocks were just evil! Also would love it if Porter and Young decide to plat together at Ky. Not sure about Richards though.

If we don't get Young, i'm absolutely clueless as to what Cal's backup plan is. I don't see one at all. We've watched Scruggs a little bit, and he's capable of playing the position, but he's a heavy IU lean. Maybe Cal thinks Briscoe will be back for his Junior year?

Re: 2017 Targets - VIDS
And maybe he knows Young is in the bag and is concentrating on recruits for other positions. Not that I'm saying this is the case, but it's possible.

Kansas is/was very close with Young. This week Self was talking with Duke transfer PG Thornton and may end up getting him.
Young will be a Cat.

Re: 2017 Targets - VIDS
Excerpt from Zags Blog regarding Diallo…..he does seem to be the "bright shining object" at the moment
"His upside's through the roof," Rens coach Andy Borman told SNY.tv this weekend "He's the most athletic naturally gifted player in the country and maybe not even for his class, maybe just hands down. The kid is 6-6, can do everything and does everything willingly. Plays defense, blocks shots, hustle plays, but the most impressive thing that I've seen is his basketball IQ is through the roof. It's not like he's just a gifted kid but he doesn't know what he's doing. Everything he does has a reason."

I've really liked Diallo, since watching him play with Gabriel last year on Team Africa, at Adidas Nations.
