I missed on my judgement, thought 22" wide but at least I was right on the G3's. I love the balance of that deer, just a beautiful set of horns he had. Now, how bad was your heart beating when he appeared and had you seen him live or on camera before you shot him?
Hadn't laid eyes on this particular deer, had no clue he was around. And I got lucky in that I didn't really have time to get shook. He busted out of the corner of our woods (I was hunting from a tree line separating two cut bean fields) about 500 yards away and was angling toward me at a dead run. I saw a huge body and the spread, and that was enough for me. I put my grunt call between my teeth and shouldered my rifle. It took all of about 5 seconds for him to make it across the bean field to the tree line where I was, and when he got there I grunted one time and he locked up on a dime. I knew better than to look at the rack, I just settled the crosshairs behind the shoulder and squeezed the trigger. The .300 Remington ultra mag did the rest, and he dropped where he stood.
Then the ole ticker REALLY started pumping, lol.

And the silly grin froze in place forever. You're gonna feel really stupid sitting there in the red bird house grinning like a hyena if the dirty birds beat the Cats this weekend.
Jazy that is a fine buck. What does the G2'S measure on that one?
Hey hunter, it would have been a lousy time to be hanging upside down from your stand when that brute appeared wouldn't it.
Note to self: don't hunt with deere or Dan.

I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight.
Ok, that's funny rat thar!
To all the deer hunters, blast a deer for me this season!
They're long legged rats IMO! Hitting one at 65 mph isn't fun!
