It's a good day today. UK won, and son's soccer team pulled a badly-needed upset win on the road yesterday. Just puts a smile on my face all day.

Good weekend. Watched the Citadel beat Mercer in person and the Cats lay the rain soaked wood to Mizzou. Spent the days with my daughter in charleston. A very good weekend

Lexington moved theirs to Saturday. babies. It's nippy but it's fine. going to be just as cold Saturday.

We had 70-80 kids show up, most dressed in hats, coats, and gloves. We assume they had costumes on under their coats. We were laughing because without really seeing costumes, it was just like random kids showing up, asking for candy....

I think Lexington is now doing it at 3pm on Saturday. How very "blue state" of them. Nice and safe. Also a complete extraction of the fun and energy and point of the whole thing, but it's somehow safer and more secure so it must be better.

Who in the Hades wants to Trick or Treat in the middle of the afternoon?

But our mayor said she erred on "the side of caution". Great but not much fun. And certainly not the point of Halloween or the trick or treat tradition.

I'd rather it be 20s and snow than 30s and rain. A cousin of my wife calls that "suicide weather."

But what I'd really like is 70s-80s and sun. We're just about 900 miles north for that right now.
