In honor of the 1st day of summer, this map I saw on twitter of hours of sunlight in the northern hemisphere:

That is a very cool map. At my old age, I had to blow the map up a little to see it more clearly, but it was cool for me to see. I'm pretty geographically challenged, which is something I have vowed to remedy at some point, but just haven't found the time yet. Seeing how the Sun / daylight affects different parts of the world is pretty cool.

^I follow Brilliant Maps and Map Porn on Twitter. (Yes, I'm that nerdy.) This was from one of those, I forget which. They have some interesting maps from time to time, I thought that was a good one.

Well that explains it. Either the Russians or the Aliens have built a giant magnifying glass and placed it over the arctic.

They knocked so loud the whole hose rattled and shook...? They’re back this morning, I think they like it here.

It's weird when 2 songs from the same artist plays randomly. The playlist I'm listening to has 3 songs by the B52s. 2 of them just played in a row. Had to double-check to make sure I was in shuffle mode. Randomness....

Love that song, but I've got a work playlist that's a little more toned down. The 2 were Roam and Love Shack.

    Have a nice day.

Sure have had some beautiful weather this week... highs in the low 80’s-lows in the low 60’s, zero humidity.

So for some reason our tankless hot water heater has started working intermittently. It's a bummer when it's off when you have to take a morning shower, like this morning. Hoping to get someone in to look at it today.

I have one that's still going strong, hope it never gives out. Mine is a Takagi, supposed to be commercial grade but I've had it a number of years now.

Handy things. For me it was space as much as anything, but endless hot water can be nice once in a while. I do think the flow rate trigger for mine has gotten higher. Just a trickle and it won't turn on, but now it seems to need a pretty strong flow to trigger on.

After 3 trips from the plumber and having to order a gas valve from the manufacturer, we finally have hot water again in Casa Evans. The plumber said he'd bill us and "try to work with us" on the bill. Scary words.

BTW, the hot water heater is GE. We bought the house from a guy who's a GE executive. It had GE everything--tankless hot water heater, water softener, microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, under-counter refrigerator, washer and dryer. In the 9 years we've lived there we've had problems with every one of them except the dryer and dishwasher. Needless to say I'm slightly less than enthusiastic about the quality of GE products.

And you know that the GE exec had to have had the best of what his company had to offer. That's kinda scary.

I've had a bunch of GE products that have been good, but BEvans' experience certainly makes you think, doesn't it?

They are now owned by a Chinese company, I do not know when they sold out, and do not know if the appliance quality went down after the sale or not. For all I know the quality might have gotten better after the sale.

Haier bought the appliance portion of GE in 2016 for $5.4 billion, but they are keeping the GE brand name. GE’s appliance sales account for 10% of the world market.

GE brings good things to life. At least during the warranty period.

Scorcher today, luckily we got a soaker on top of the heat, so now it’s hot and steamy.

I haven't cut my grass this month. And not just because I'm lazy. Even running the sprinkler doesn't help with this lack of rain. 40% chance of rain 3 days this week here in Louisville, so maybe we'll finally break through.
