New gun laws? Wha choo takin bout willis? What about the "enforce the ones we already have" cry? Maybe he was just trying to show that child the beauty of the outdoors? Maybe the gun was for self protection against wolves and coyotes, and she had been properly trained on how to use that gun by him because he was a responsible gun owner. You do realize the NRA is going to come and take your card away, right?

As we all know (and I get the sarcasm from all), there are plenty of laws to cover this particular situation, starting with wanton endangerment of a minor. leaving her in the desert would warrant some kind of charge, doing so with a cocked and locked 45 elevates that to some vastly higher level of charge.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.
And as we all know it would have been perfectly legal for a five year old to be handling and firing this gun if a "responsible" individual had been present. So if gramps is sitting in a chair by said granddaughter, its legal. Me, I find that disturbing.
