Just received a very nice note from one of my ex-players' parents
The kid tried out for his high school team this week (he's a "transfer" student, and could not try out with the other kids). Although the roster was completed last month, the coaches added him to the team.
His Mom sent me this note thanking me.
"His time with you got him to ready to play, and your coaching has prepared him so well. The coaches are happy with his effort. You taught him some great life lessons on and off the court."
I can't tell you how much that made my day. I'm bursting with pride like he's one of my own kids. He averaged 2 points a game for our team. May be the lowest scoring player ever in history to make his high school team from a junior high team .
Way to go, Will! Proud of you, son.

Ya see Darrell? What did I tell you? You did make a lasting impression on him, and you were a positive influence.
Good job, buddy!
