    Finally, finally, finally!!!

When I was hired on my current job a little over three years ago, they had us working a 4/10's work schedule....that is, until this past January. For 2-1/2 years I worked 4/10's and absolutely LOVED IT!!! Then in January they switched us to a shift they call 9/80's where you work 9 hour days Monday through Thursday and then you work 8 hours every other Friday (you have every other Friday off).

Now this 9/80's schedule would really rock if you were used to a 5/8's schedule...but coming off a 4/10's schedule it pretty much sucked! I was used to a three-day weekend every week. Well...as of THIS WEEK...they gave us our 4/10's back!! I chose to work a different 4/10's schedule this time. Now I am working Tuesday-Friday...so I don't have to do Mondays anymore!! woo hoo!!

I am so happy right now! (yes....10 hr days can be long...but on the weekend, they are SOOOO worth it!!!)

Cool PJ. I have never had that "luxury". My job is more like 5 12s and part time on Saturday. I do not have to show up at an office though, which is the only perq I am allowed.

That is one huge perq, Dan. I don't know if I have the self-discipline to work at home. I see too many things that need to be done in the house, I'd never get my work done...haha!! And I'm super glad that I *rarely* have to put in any overtime.

I would love 4/10's. Seems like I'm working 5/10's right now.

I work 8/9s then one 8 hr and off the 10th day of the pay period. However, I can change my day off anytime during the pay period i wish....comes in handy for appts, trips, etc. First time in my life I've ever had it......I love it.

That is what my company calls a 9/80's shift. That is what they just took me off of...but I wasn't allowed to choose my day off. It was every other Friday. It's not a bad shift at all...just not as good as 4/10's...lol

I work 4- 10 hour days, Monday thru Thursday. I love it. And if I do not work any overtime(which I have not been getting much of this year, damn it!)then I have Friday, Saturday, & Sunday off, which is nice for family time. 10 hour shifts are great as far as I'm concerned, especially after having worked shifts/rotating shifts/split shifts for all of those years.
