OK, here is the set-up
Have comcast HD with a box and HDMI to a wall mounted flat screen running thru a Yamaha reciever with surround sound. So the HDMI goes from the cable box to the receiver into HDMI 1. A second cable come out "HDMI OUT" to the TV. No problem, works great.
Now I want to add my desk top to allow me to either stream stuff off my computer such as ESPN 3 or Netflix, or watch a DVD off my computer drive. Back of my computer has an HDMI output so I can plug directly into the TV however it does not take the sound. Sound goes thru my computer speakers. My receiver has 4 additional HDMI inputs but when I go from computer into those I still get no sound thru the receiver. So what I'm trying to do is have the picture AND sound go from my computere thru the receiver to the TV.
The reciever is a Yamaha RX-V377 if that helps
