MUSIC VIDEO Thread 5: signature videos

    Since Darrell is slacking.....

Considering the recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominations, this thread is pick a famous artist/group and the video that is their signature song/video.

    I'll go first with

Rush-some might consider their signature song/video to be Tom Sawyer but for me its Limelight.

Incredible in that the song's lyrics were written by Neil Peart prior to them hitting the "Limelight" with their Moving Pictures album. He wrote it after the 2112 album.

Good pick but I'm conflicted on this one. IMO ZZ is known for the spinning fur guitar in Legs while Gimme gave us the hot chicks in the hot rod...part I

Yep--I can see all of those. I went with the first one because that was the one that really set the tone for their style in the 80s, including their videos. Before that, they were just a "lil ole band from Texas," as the saying goes.

When I think of Queen and videos I automatically think of Bohemian Rhapsody. One of the greatest videos to define a group imbo.

I totally agree. It is their defining song/video.

I'm adding this one, The Cars. Who could forget "the fly"

I think a great follow thread to this one would be for musical solo defining video. I'm struggling with Michael Jackson, but not with Jackson 5.

Its cool because when I think Dire Straits and Video, I think "Money for Nothing" as their biggest or most recognizable one.

Yeah, that video was undoubtedly more popular. When I think of Dire Straits though, Brothers in Arms is the song I think of.
