Link to a good forecast radar map online?

Trying to see if it will be raining Friday/Saturday within a 250+ mile radius of Birmingham. Thinking of doing something for the kids, but weather looks iffy.

I have seen a lot of forecast maps over the years but have never seen a "radar" forecast map

Seems as good as any I have seen.

Thanks--Dan, I may not have called it the right thing, I don't know. What I was looking for was something that would show anticipated weather/rain in the Georgia-Alabama-Mississippi-Tennessee-Arkansas-Kentucky region for a couple of days ahead of time.

And BigBluePappy, this kind of thing OFTEN comes up with us--we're very much last minute, spur of the moment folks for things like a quick weekend trip, or even a day trip, so I appreciate the link. It will come up again.

As it turned out, we just picked Chattanooga, because they have the Tennessee Aquarium where we spent a few hours in the freshwater building, the ocean building, and Imax, and because of a Ghost tour the kids (and I) wanted to go on. One of those "Rainy days in Chattanooga" articles suggested going on the ghost tour, which is held rain or shine, and talked about how it is spookier sometimes during the rain. We rain-geared up, and figured that was a pretty good day where we didn't have to worry about the weather.

Turned out, it didn't rain during the tour, but we were ready if it did.

Check out this link. I believe it will give you the info you desire. You have to play with the menu on the left, mouse overs and clicking the arrows at the top, but you should figure it out in short order. It is a very general forecast that covers a wide area and does not get very specific. Even though Birmingham and Chattanooga are both in the rain area, it may rain on both, neither, one and not the other. It is better than walking outside in the morning, wetting and raising your index finger to determine the coming weather though unless of course it is already raining.

Thanks, that looks good. We are champions of the short trip. Sad, really, but very rare we take a lengthy trip, either in distance or time.
