What is the longest you have waited?

I'm afraid I'm a bit difficult about this, but not as much as I could be. At a specialist's office, after 45 minutes I tell the receptionist I'm leaving in 15 minutes and will find a different specialist. That usually gets me in before the hour is up. If that doesn't happen I make good on my word. With my GP it's not a big deal to just reschedule.
But I don't have any known serious health issues, and specialist visits tend to be CYA for the GP. What I would do if I thought I was actually sick might be quite different.

I've found that if you open the exam room door and look like you're about to leave they usually get to you pretty quickly
changing my signature to change our luck.
I DO NOT have that problem at the VA. If I'm 10 minutes past my appointment, they will tell you that the Doctor/or whomever will see you in just a minute.
I had to go to a civilian dermatolgist here about 2 months ago. I was actually in the exam room 5 minutes BEFORE my scheduled appointment time, and the dermatologist walked in a couple of minutes early as well!
Yeah, but most people do not carry guns and night sticks to the doctors office with them. Maybe I will give that a try next time.

I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight.
Had to wait a very long time for things when Ron was sick. Lots of times we were put into a room and sat there for hours. Part of the reason was everyone being seen was there for a critical reason - and some people became acutely ill and had to be taken care of then. They couldn't wait until their appointment time or they might die. I have seriously been in an exam room for more than 5 hours before - but I did my best to not complain - the people working there were truly angels. I do know I have had to wait over 90 minutes with other doctors - and I did become upset and say something to the people who worked there. Being a nurse - I try to give them the benefit of the doubt - but my impatience makes it tough.
