Life on the road against a power SEC team

You don't come into Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and expect to catch many breaks. Alabama football is a dynamo, and 100,000+ screaming Roll Tide fans make even hearing yourself gulp difficult.

But the one thing you don't need is the Alabama 11 add a referee or two to help.

This is an amazing "spot" that resulted in an Alabama first down against Ole Miss Saturday night on Alabama's first drive of the game. Check it out.

If 6 straight title game appearances wasn't enough, the SEC office got to double up last year by having 2 in. After seeing that kind of cash, Birmingham will make sure that its title contenders are given the opportunity to go to Miami. This is why I oppose officials working for conferences instead of the NCAA as a whole.

Pretty par for the course for the SEC. We see it every game, only we get the ball moved back on spots instead of forward.

Maybe the referee didn't get a good look where the ball was when the knee hit the ground. His view was obstucted by all the players between him and ball carrier
