That image doesn't clean up for me. What's going on?

This is a TV at work. I didn't see it happen but apparently somehow one of the kids phones hit the screen at the bottom and dented it. It was fine when I turned it off a few minutes after it happened but this morning it has this big multicolored stripe.

jmho, but the monitor/ tv screen is toast. I have had a couple of PC monitor displays do the same thing and the screen had to be replaced.

Bad news jgirl. At minimum column drivers are destroyed, if the panel itself isn't physically damaged. Either way, it's toast, the only repair is replacing the panel which on most large TV's is more than the cost of a new TV itself.

If you bring it to my house, I have a really cool screw extraction kit I got from Sear's that I've been dying to use again.

TV's are so cheap now that I no longer by extended warranties. Cheaper to replace plus you get better technology. Heck, at Xmas I replaced our 36 inch outdoor TV with a 42 inch one for less than $250. Buy the "extended" warranty for $60 a year, makes no sense at all.
