anybody update itunes lately and have it totally screwed up?

beside me? I hate "updates". Just another excuse to goof up something that is working fine.

I updated Itunes and now it won't open. Get some missing file note (Missing MSVCR80.dll) so do the obligatory search. Had do unistall itunes, apple support, bonjour, etc.... then reload. What a pile of crap!

    On a windows machine obviously.

I still contend that Itunes on windows is the worst designed, buggiest piece of junk software ever sent out by a major software company. Worse than Windows ME or Vista, worse than anything.

I partly switched to Android just to get away from it. I had to wipe it off and reinstall many times and on 2 laptops I never could get it working. I was on my third machine when I switched. Android doesn't have a nice wrapped up program like Itunes for Windows, but you don't need it really since you can copy files and do backups and such directly without the ITunes restrictive hoops.

I'd offer some advice but like I said I failed to get it to work on more than one computer. Did you get it working finally? The Bonjour service seems to be a particularly bad part of the design.
People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

My suggestion is to avoid watching porn on your phone.

It will leave the data files or did with mine, including my music. I copied it over anyway to be safe. But the whole construct of it doesn't think like Windows thinks, which is what causes the problems. Glad you got it working, I just got so fed up I switched the last time rather than fix it.

What does Bonjour do? I have never installed it because I didn't know what it did and was doing fine without it.

Heck if I know. I never intentionally installed it either. Odds are it was included in an "update"

It's Apple's update and connector software. Gets installed with iTunes but seems to also interact with other Apple software. It's buggy as Hades and I really don't get why it exists other than as bloatware to constantly check for updates and sent data back to Apple.
