James Blackmon Jr On Campus Tonight
I keep going back and forth whether I want him or Booker more. Eric Bossi thinks Blackmon is quicker AND
a better shooter (which surprises me a bit). Of course, 54% from the field, 48% on 3s, and 89% on FTs
playing very tough competition in Indiana is very telling.
JBJ loves Cal.....

Re: James Blackmon Jr On Campus Tonight
Bird in the hand sure beats what just happened to us last week. Take who ever wants to commit first or maybe both.

Re: James Blackmon Jr On Campus Tonight
Yeah, that has to be a good thing. I saw somewhere that he's going to UofL tomorrow. Hope he suddenly has a "conflict" and can't make that visit.
I wouldn't pull for UofL if they were playing the Taliban.

Maybe he will not be fond of the aroma of soybeans being processed in the summer heat.

Re: James Blackmon Jr On Campus Tonight
[QUOTE=blue2ksr;106466]Darryl, you promised that Blackmon is a "done deal", and I'm going to hold you to it, lol.
It scares me a little when I see "done deal", because some of them haven't worked out as we hoped.
It all started with Ralph Sampson.
Blue, I still think about that one. Joe B, Leonard and Joe Dean were SHOCKED!!! we did not get him. I think even Ralph was surprised
he picked Virginia.

[QUOTE=blue2ksr;106471]Unlike some, I am unsure the Laettner shot cost us a title. IU was very good and we made have been emotionally spent
for a Final 4 game with them (they had beaten UCLA by 30+ in the Elite 8 game)
I am convinced the Sampson loss cost us at least 2 NCAA titles; maybe 3.

[QUOTE=Darryl;106474]Those are great points, but that Laettner shot cost me a night's sleep. I tossed and turned all night. When I did fall asleep, I quickly woke up in a freakin' sweat.
It sure would have been great to have seen Sampson play alongside Bowie.
You probably remember Joe B. recruited another big man that year, Steve Stipanovich, who ended up at Missouri.

Re: James Blackmon Jr On Campus Tonight
[QUOTE=blue2ksr;106477]Yep. Clark Kellogg was top 5 that year and said his 2nd choice was UK. UK signed #2 Bowie and #4 Hord. #3 James Worthy had
UK in his top 3. Sampson had UK #1 or #2. Stipanovich loved UK.
Joe also signed Turpin, ranked #6 by Bob Gibbons. Mel had to go to prep school. Dirk was top 25 and Hurt top 40.
Joe B could do some recruiting!
