No surprise Kentucky one of those states where a dollar goes a long way. A lot cheaper to live here than the fancy coastal states.
Hate to see Florida down the list a bit as my wife and I are moving there in September.
I'm guessing Florida more than many states has a lot to do with where exactly you are going to live. There's such a difference in things like real estate values and related expenses that I can't imagine it's very consistent as a state.
Sure Lexington and Louisville and Northern Ky are different from Hazard, but not as much as the swamps of central florida are different from South Beach.
The trend appears to be that red states give you more bang for your buck than blue states.
