I'm sorry, I shouldn't sully the posting of his passing with anything but respect and condolences for the family and friends of Alex Trebek. And the millions of people who admired and respected him, me included. I spent many hours watching this classy gentleman.

He just rose far above “game show host” to become a fixture in American life and a symbol of a life well lived.
Not necessarily at childhood icon for me, but during my teen years he was. RIP Mr Jeopardy

Daggone! I l lost a friend to pancreatic cancer a couple of months ago. Having seen first hand how quickly the cancer exacts it’s will on those stricken with it, prayers to his family.
My friend made a decision that I heard echoed by Tribek not long ago. Once the treatment began taking a toll on the quality of life it no longer made sense to continue the battle. In addition my friend stated, it wasn’t fair to his family both emotionally or financially to continue the battle while only feeling human one or two days between treatments.

Not unexpected, but still sad news
Does anyone know who the new host is and when they will be on.
I knew it was unexpected but I was still in shock and wondered when was his last live taping.
His final show will be broadcast December 25. Seems fitting.
Don't know who his replacement will be. Heard speculation it might be Ken Jennings.
Talk about pressure. Trying to fill unfillable shoes....

I think Drew Carey has been good replacing Bob Barker (completely different styles) , so it is tough but can be done.
