I Suspect There Have Been 10X Posts Here Condemning Capitol Attack Vs Summer Riots
Where was the outrage during the last few months in countless cities across the country? In those riots the loss of life and destruction of property was a lot more severe than what took place in the capitol.
I don’t advocate violence and property destruction in any type of riot no matter the cause. Had this been stopped over the summer it more than likely would not have happened to the extent it did in the Capitol.
Having said that, I’d rather see these demonstrations take place in the Capitol, after all those who are able to make the changes being brought up are all located there. It’s far better than destroying innocent bystanders and businesses and livelihoods across the country.

Summer riots were peaceful and only private property was damage...except for the Portland Court building which Trump attempted to protect, but was overstepping his authority when he did so. Those were organized and carried out by oppressed citizen clamoring for equality.
The overthrow of the capital was by slack jaw toothless racist rednecks. Clearly you see the difference.

Are you suggesting the sucker punching "white folk" is not a good method of protest? I mean do a youtube search of "sucker punch protester" and you will get plenty of "Trump supporter sucker punches" and "Trump supporter who sucker punched hug in court".... These are the top 23. There was no mention of Trump in the post, just SUCKER PUNCH PROTESTER". All those things we saw on the news last summer never happened.

I have felt compelled to come on and here say as a conservative.. This is real talk. If BLM attacks the capital like this right wing nuts did this week, there would have been a lot of African Americans and young people killed. That is real and hard talk. I hate the kneeling and the burning of buildings, but I hate more what trump caused this week. Censorship is dangerous as well, but what have conservatives Been trying to do to Kneeling to the flag? Im embarrassed as a conservative of what happened this week. That wasn’t being an American patriot. That was insanity

Btw, I want to point out that I think its a fair criticism to say that many "liberals" (whether it be the media, friends, on here, etc) were silent on the rioting that occurred last summer. It was awful and wrong. And I thought the media made a mistake not spending more time on it.
Having said that, I also think its a mistake to even bring that up amongst this discussion. Because even if its a fair criticism it doesn't deal with what is before us now. And its used as a distraction and for many a justification or excuse.
I don't think most people (conservatives and liberals alike) realize just how close we were to an absolute massacre. We are already seeing more and more information coming out about it and there will be way more. In the coming months, we are going to hear things that will make our skin crawl.

Trump has never advocated violence. He repeated advocated for Peaceful protests. He said it in his speech as well as denouncing the violence in the aftermath. Show me a single example of him advocating for violence and I will apologize and support your claim. I dont want a report by some media outlet. I want a quote with the entire context

One more thought on this that I hesitate to make simply because I don't want to drift to far from the OP.
But, I started another thread some time ago about a "Republican Civil War". To be clear, I didn't mean a literal one. I meant a division from within the Republican Party.
What happened last Wednesday will only further divide the party. Without a doubt I have some die hard Trump supporters in my life (friends and family) that still defend him even in the wake of what happened. That won't change.
But, I also have many who have defended him through and through. Voted for him twice. Defended the "election was stolen" stuff. And until last Wednesday, would have voted for him again if that were an option.
Wednesday changed that. They are done for good (like T in this post). And not only are they done with him, they now are looking back and realizing the damage that has been done in the past few months and the things that led to last week happening.
Again, this is for a different thread, but a major major issue for the Republican Party moving forward is how to deal with this. I will post more elsewhere but wanted to respond to this post by at least bringing that divide up.

You described it perfectly. If conservatives don’t move on from him, the left wing censorship, cnn, AOC mafia, your simply just letting them win by supporting this goon now. And that is what he is, a goon. He had every chance to be ABOVE what the left wing media does and BLM extremist. Instead he has brought our party to their level and it has pissed me off

His Pentagon officials refused to allow the National Guard to be present when they were asked to do so before the rally and protest.
He initially refused to allow the National Guard to go in once the siege started.
While the siege was happening and our Congressmen were bunkered in a holding room scared for their lives....he was in the White House MAKING CALLS TO CONGRESSMEN to get them to continue to hold up the proceedings. This is a fact.
And in his video, after telling them to go home, he closed his video with, "We love you. You're very special."
They literally built a gallows and a noose.

A man named Don has a German Shepherd.
For years, he has been teaching and training that German Shepherd to hate Pit Bulls. He teaches him they are the enemy.
Every day, he feeds that German Shepherd chunks of raw red meat.
One day, he tells the German Shepherd that a neighboring Pit Bull and owner stole his raw red meat.

Don stands on the other side of the street and watches the fight.
He never tries to go get the German Shepherd.
He never tries to get other neighbors to help.
He just....watches (and calls the Butcher to see if there is a sale on raw red meat for later).
Finally, after a lot of fighting and other neighbors screaming at him, he quietly tells the German Shepherd to come back over.
But the German Shepherd can't hear him because he's across the street and he isn't looking at his phone watching twitter at the moment. He's in a dog fight for his raw red meat they didn't steal.
Eventually enough other neighbors come to the rescue and stop the fight.
One of the intervening neighbors died from multiple bites from the German Shepherd.
When the German Shepherd comes back across the street, Don tells him he loves him and he is special.
He doesn't thank the neighbors for intervening.
He doesn't send a card to the dead neighbor.
After all, none of it was his fault...he never TOLD the German Shepherd to go attack the Pit Bull.

I can spend a day adding his past comments that are calls to action, but I am going to focus on just the one from Wednesday:

What does strength and strong mean?
He was watching the events as they were happening, smiling, laughing. His inner circle were dancing and enjoying themselves as the violence was happening. He told them that he "loved him".
Puma, I am sure that you would think that Trump knew about what we are starting to see as detailed plans of violence online. He's the POTUS, unless there was a MAJOR failure of our intelligence, he had to be briefed on what people were planning to do, and he and his circle STILL went on stage and said the things they said.
Has Trump ever said I encourage you to use force and violence? Of course not. He doesn't have to. That is not his style. Trump never asks for crimes to happen directly, but those loyal to him always fully understand what he wants. He is an intelligent criminal.

So then one would have to assume they briefed Trump too and he still said those things.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone on this board thinks, Trump still has 40 million citizens who support him and think the events of Wednesday were justified, it is about what law enforcement thinks.
One by one, these people that are being arrested are singing like little birds saying it that Trump is the reason for their planned attacks.

We all saw his speech. It was classic 'Teleprompter Don'.
The problem with his speeches that condemn the resulting actions from the fury that he whips up is that he has a pattern of condemning and immediately stoking right after.
No one should take his condemnations with any integrity or seriousness. They truly are the example of empty words, but they do satisfy his supporters.

Its not his rally speech. Of course that mentioned a peaceful march on the Capital, emphasis on peaceful.
No, the portion In the Indian report was in the aftermath where he condemned the violence, talked about calling out the national guard (something liberals opposed when rioters attacked the federal building in Portland in yet another act of hypocrisy. Riot in the Capital where we are then we need protection but riot elsewhere, then tough because it was an opportunity to oppose Trump). And I intentionally selected a newscast that was not pro-Trump to avoid any appearance of selectivity and pro Trump bias
