For those using Parler - Be careful
Saw this article and wanted to pass it on since I know a few of you use Parler.
In short, the CEO admits they have no system for detecting child sex abuse videos. And porn websites/companies have already infiltrated the site and taken over many of the maga hashtags (which is legal).
CEO says the only system they have in place for illegal pics/videos and imagery are people reporting it. Anyways, just be careful on there.

Re: For those using Parker - Be careful
Puma, I edited your "Parker" to "Parler" in your title--I assume that was a typo, hope you don't mind.
I looked at the title & couldn't figure out what "Parker" was. :)

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
As to your post, it's a good heads-up. Me, I'm trying to find a way to streamline my social media, not add another service to it.

Ha. Thanks! Yes, that is what I meant.
Ya, to each his own on what they want to use. I don't care either way. Just saw the article and thought it was good to know. I remember reading a story once about a coach who had a "university cell phone". But it was basically his and had been for a long time. Anyways, it stopped working and he turned it in when they gave him a new one.
The IT guy at the University went on to wipe it and saw thousands and thousands of family photos. There were a few that the coach/dad had taken of his kids when they were tiny (like toddlers I think) playing in the bath (most parents have done this).
Long story short, the coach was arrested for child pornography. True story. He lost his job, etc.
In short, be careful out there on any site or social media that doesn't actively stop that stuff. Its easy to share, like, retweet, open etc a link that has something you didn't mean to see or share. I know everyone is in a "free speech" tizzy. But there is a reason these websites/social media companies have filters and restrictions.

When I first saw the title, I thought it was a warning about ink pens, and after reading further and finding out it wasn't I was really disappointed.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
I have an account, don’t use it much at all. Rarely use Twitter and have cut way back on FB.

I'm just on FB and that is limited. I use the messenger a lot. My FB is mostly a news feed of things I like to follow. I've unfollowed many people :)
For anyone that wants to follow the most boring FB poster of all time...

Been on the site for about 4 weeks now. No issues. I screen who I follow, and who follows me.

Apple warning Parler has 24 hours to moderate itself:
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article...ens-ban-parler
Part of their letter talks about the hundreds of posts I have seen calling for the Jan 6th attack and planning one on Jan 19th.

Have read Google has sent a similar notice.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
Some good steps are being taken to put all this stuff back where it belongs. I'm not sure that anything can put the "genie" back in the bottle, but maybe if it is harder to access, fewer people can be brainwashed such as the lady insurgent that lost her life (and people that I once considered friends).

We can't stop with social media. There are plenty of printed papers and books that need to be burned too, to protect people from themselves. And speeches, we can't forget speeches from people like Trump Jr and Trump and Guliani and what they did, so we have to crack down on those too.
"Insurgent". lol.
It's just gotten impossible to tell the fascists apart in this country, which is why I bowed out of this circle jerk. Everyone seems to want fascism these days, just so long as their side wins. It's like watching the Spanish Civil war, but without as much Google translate.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
If we want to cut back on the brainwashing, then we absolutely can not stop at social media sites. The main stream media has to be stifled as well, and many print publications would have to be shut down.
-
Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
I'm on it. I simply read posts and make echos. I have not done hashtags honestly because I never know if I am doing it right and do not click on any.
Someone needs to put out a statment though. The paranoia is going nuts ....as you can imagine.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
I think banning him was likely a mistake. Having said that, what is happening with Parler is deserved. They have people on there talking openly about attacks on government buildings and politicians and refuse to take it down.
I'm all for free speech. I'm not at all for planning attacks on government buildings or officials.

I'm not advocating for an end to social media at all. I am completely supportive of the platforms setting their own rules as long as they stick to them. Without social media, we would not be able to find all of these insurgents, so it is a great law enforcement tool.
It may be impossible for you to distinguish between the fascists. It's pretty easy for most of us.
I don't want fascism at all, which is why I have been so vocal about Trump for years. I just want our country to do better than it has, for everyone to have an equal and fair chance. I embrace diversity but I have to draw the line somewhere and had to do so with Trump and eventually his base because it did not take that much to understand that this is exactly what would happen to our nation.
In fact, it was SO predictable that the Simpsons made fun of it in 2000. They didn't get it totally right though. No way they could've predicted that he wanted to overthrow American Democracy. That really didn't get on our radar until the last 6-8 years.

I agree that banning him permanently is not the best approach, but then again, he received warning after warning and Twitter does have policy.
I'm all for free speech too, but just like all freedoms, they have their limitations in the name of public safety. If Trump wants to speak, he can keep making those cowardly (a normal President would just speak to the press) videos.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
Google has apparently suspended Parlor from the App Store.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
Well it starts in the schools and is taught heavily on college campuses by professors who kids look up to and follow.

This is scary as hell. Big tech and Silicon Valley are basically controlling and banning conservative voice outlets. This should scare every person on here and everywhere.
-
Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
Nothing new that Candice Owens has not talked about.
We are being controlled and lead in every direction.
Thats why the give me everything for free sector is hard for me to believe.

I’ve been told that there is a difference between conservatives and the MAGAt terrorists. Are you saying that’s not the case?
The reason why I ask is that I follow a whole lot of Conservatives on social media that are not repeatedly violating policies.

Re: For those using Parler - Be careful
So with the removal of the western canon from universities and high schools, the attack on enlightened western civilization continues. Look it up, all over the country institutions will #removethetexts I've seen Twain and Homer removed just in the last few days. When I told you guys years ago about the attack on western civilization by what we now call the woke, social identity democrats, you were pretty blase. Now you can't get use technology on your apple phone. Western civilization is being dismantled by the triumphant Biden/Pelosi/Schumer triumverate and their allies.

#removethetexts is not a new phenomenon. It's been going on before any of us were born in a different way, obviously with social media a recent invention.
For all of the books that people are getting outraged that are being removed, how about the books that were never allowed into the curriculum? They are every bit as meaningful, enriching and important to our history and culture.
The concern should be when people cannot access these things, not because an entity does not provide them. We can make our own choices to seek them out.

Free Market: *Decides something*
Conservatives: You can't decide that! Congress must fix this!

So true.

Well it’s not like he’s been silenced. He’s even got a press room in that big White House he lives in that he’s free to use anytime he wants.

Liberals: 2016 election was illegitimate and needs to be investigated.
Liberals: Trump has no right to contest 2020 election results. It was all legit.
All depends on which side you are on my friend.
