Can’t count Alaska as that one is already included in the Republican total. With Wisconsin called the total for Republicans is now 49-48 with Nevada, Arizona and Georgia left. The final 20% outstanding in Nevada and 30% in Arizona are mostly mail-ins. Odd how 90% of absentee ballots are Democratic votes.
Georgia is a lost cause.
May end up 50-50
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
I see 50-50, been hoping but does not look like the outcome we need.
Amazing how Pennsylvania could vote the way they did.

Union payrolls, 150 years of family history in the cities of voting a straight ticket for Demorats without even thinking about it.
A state that voted for a mental defective president candidate, and they match that with a stroke victim that has mental issues. They are consistent.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
True, you know I have always been shocked that the unions support democrats but it makes perfect sense because the unions are nothing but a pyramid scheme and dictatorship which is in line with the Democratic Party.

Heck, they voted for a guy who died 5 months ago.
I love all the fawning over "democracy". There's democracy for you.
The goal is liberty, and democracy requires some responsibility. America is really short on responsibility these days, and we see the results on both sides.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
What does “election day” mean anymore? It should be the day of record where votes are tallied and someone is elected.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
Why all of a sudden does it take a week to count votes?
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
The folks doing the counting went to school during the covid lock down.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
Or the Biden school of counting.

IDK as I come from a large state who had the results within hours of the polls closing...... but the appearance is so that votes can be added and subtracted. The longer the counts go the great the opportunity it to manipulate the outcome
I get Alaska as the remoteness makes it tough. Heck, you have outposts where there is little to no contact to the capital, and all travel is via seaplane. Arizona and part of CA, not so much.
Any shock that these long wait states will end up blue?
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
“Big state” is No excuse for taking a week to count a congressional district.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
Seems we will continue to be led by those that supply bull **** and higher taxes.

This. When I was young you had to apply for an absentee ballot b/c you were going to be out of town, or you were in the service. Now people vote months before they even know much about the candidates. A guy could commit murder a week before the election and win bc so many people have already voted.
Democracy is overrated anyway. Case in point, in PA they elected a dead guy. Been gone 5 months, still voted for him. I'm betting with a lot of absentee ballots, lot.

They also voted for a vegetable
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
Arizona is a small state. Not as big as VA.
the issue is the way they choose to vote and how they allow folks to vote.
needs to be a National standard for national elections.
No votes counted that are received after election day.
For an absentee, must prove you are the one that cast the vote by use of ID.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
Virginia Cat it has to get back to that. Have all the absentee counted ahead of time but not reported of course until polls close.
One of the worst things is the ditching of “votes must arrive by close of polls on election day” holding it open for a week renders election day useless.
“Same day registration” is open to all kinds of abuses and it occupies all of the election admins time when it’s gamed by college students for example. It delays results.
Congressional districts all have roughly the same number of voters/population. They should all have an absolute deadline of votes to be counted, reported, and canvassed by 11:59 election day.

Preaching to the choir sir....
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
I am thinking that each state gets to set their own rules for each election, and they do not have any specific requirements to meet even when voting for federal positions.
Without a constitutional amendment there is no way in heck that all 50 states are going to even come close to having the same voting procedures. It is obvious to me that there is no way to have fair and impartial elections without having national oversight, and there is no guarantee that would be better than what we have today.
Re: The OFFICIAL election day thread.....LOL
No need for constitution changes. . Election day is specific in federal law. It is a deadline. Defining election day less broadly is legislative.
