Or maybe the original wonder woman shows?

Stranger Things on Netflix would be a good one if you haven't already seen it. There are 2 seasons.
Mrs. BEvans and I were discussing "Northern Exposure" from the 90s and how much we enjoyed it, especially the first few seasons. It's hard to find! Not available on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime, and not available to check out in 2 different local library systems. I wonder if it's like WKRP in that they couldn't clear the rights to the music they used. Regardless, I'd love to see it again.
Ooh, I'm not sure about that for a 4-year old. Probably most things will go right by her, though.
Reminds me of the time when my wife went to New Orleans to visit her sister on some birthday or other event, and I was left with the kids when they were small. I thought it would be a good thing to watch the movie, "Vacation." I forgot it was rated "R." I lost my Dad of the Year award that year. I don't remember how old they were, but pre-teen. Not good.
It is tough. She wants to watch something so bad with me. But you dont realize the content of some shows until you watch them with kids.

Nothing currently showing in the G-rated venue according to my search. Here's a list of some PG movies that are currently playing.

^^^Does she watch Looney Tunes? I loved it as a kid and it's pretty educational in a common sense sort of way.
Ha, we may have to try that one.

Well the Nathan James is putting the band back together to save the world...again. On the finale season of The Last Ship.
Looks like the Colombians are making a bid to take over the world this time.
In the previews of the next episode, I think it was the president that said, “The world needs Tom Chandler”

Just watched Smokey & The Bandit on Amazon Prime. Been a long time since I've seen the unedited version with Jackie Gleason's colorful language. Good stuff.
The blu-ray comes with extras and one of the things I found to be amazing was they only used three Trans Ams in making the movie and they were constantly borrowing parts from each due to how hard they were driven. The movie itself was largely ad lib. They tried out several actors for the Buford T Justice role but most everyone agreed Jackie Gleason was their guy.
Stumbled over some freaky stuff on YouTube. It's called The Real Eyes Wide Shut and it's loaded with conspiracy allegations against the ultra elite. I can't do it justice here so if you're curious feel free to check it out.
Here's a link to an article referencing the post above. I can't remember the first time I saw the movie but it wasn't at the theater. Probably on HBO or something similar. I found it interesting but not very well fleshed out so far as plot. The article and the YouTube video sheds some light.

Amazon's Marvelous Mrs. Maisel came close to sweeping the Emmys in the comedy category: best show, best actress, best supporting actress, best writing and best director. I think "Silicon Valley" and "Brockmire" are the best comedies going, but Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is very good, too, and I was glad to see it recognized. Season 2 starts soon.
I just saw that the director of the next Bond film will be the director of the first True Detective series on HBO, Cary Fukunaga.
Been watching Person of Interest on Netflix. I had no idea it was this good.
The Fast & Furious series: Are they that good or is it a niche'?
There's a movie called Shenandoah that came out in '65 starring James Stewart and set in the Civil War. It's a great movie with old fashioned values and great dialogue.
Charlie Anderson: No, no. You just said you loved her. There's some difference between lovin' and likin'. When I married Jennie's mother, I-I didn't love her - I liked her... I liked her a lot. I liked Martha for at least three years after we were married and then one day it just dawned on me I loved her. I still do... still do. You see, Sam, when you love a woman without likin' her, the night can be long and cold, and contempt comes up with the sun.
Currently, I can't find a hard copy but you can buy or rent at Amazon Prime Video.
First one is one of my favorite movies.
2 doesn't really fit in but is fun. Basically a re-write bc Vin Diesel bailed
After that, they start to replace story with more car chases and stunts. Not as good IMO but still pretty fun to watch.

I just saw that Murder by Death will be available on Blu-ray Dec. 18th. It's comedy done very well.
Here's the IMDb link. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074937/?ref_=nv_sr_2

Started bingeing "Jack Ryan" last night. got thru 2 episodes and like it a lot. Of course it is hard picturing Jim Halpert as a CIA operative/analyst after leaving Dunder Mifflin
They should have the actor (forget his name) that played Dwight Shroot make a guest appearance as a kgb operative lol. He was really good in Sahara.
Season 3 of Daredevil premiers on October 19th on Netflix. Good series but it took long enough to come back around. Kinda like Stranger Things but I guess they're worth it. :)
The next season of Stranger Things won't be back around until 2019 some time.
If you had to pick between Two Mules for Sister Sara (Eastwood) and Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) which one would you pick?
Shirley MacLaine and Katherine Hepburn respectively.
Young Guns II came out on Blu Ray for pre-order a week or so ago to be released on Nov 20th. It's already sold out and at a price I wasn't going to bite on, $24.99. I have the first Young Guns but 2 is one of those fairly rare occasions where the sequel is better. Should have plenty of time to restock but I doubt the price will go down.
Watched the first episode of a new TV show last night that was much, much better than I expected. The show was like a mini-movie. I don't know if the writing can keep up those standards week-after-week, but if it does, it's a winner.
"God Friended Me."
I watched the 42-minute, no commercial version (thanks again, DroidTV lifetime subscription and casting) last night, and about 5 minutes in, I'm thinking this is just a silly little sitcom type show.
About 10-15 minutes in, there was a twist or two that made it interesting.
By 20-25 minutes, it had begun getting very good with some intrigue. By 30 minutes, you were dropping your mouth open the twists were so good.
I have probably oversold this TV show--it's not a classic, or anything like that. But for a new television show, I found it quite, quite good. I have seen mixed reviews on this--some thinking it is very clever, with some excellent actors--others thinking it's silly, or sappy, or stupid, or whatever.
It is NOT a silly, wacky TV show. I think the review I read that said that fell for the obvious--the title of the show would lead you to believe that. Instead, it is a drama, with some humorous moments, and yeah, some cheesiness. Love the star (Brandon Micheal Hall); really good actor. And guys like his Dad, a preacher (get it--preacher's son is an atheist) was outstanding, although he had a very limited role.
You may hate it. I really liked it. It's not all-religiousy, although the premise certainly includes that for sure.
The basic premise (I don't want to ruin any story lines, but it would help your interest if I did) is that an atheist podcaster
Here are the comments from people after one review I read:

I hope this show has a long run, but even if it doesn’t, I’ll always love it for introducing me to Beautiful Boy by John Lennon.
I’d be er heard it until it was featured in the second or third episode.

I love this show b/c it’s hopeful and deals with sad issues w/o blood and gore. Plus, it’s nice that my 16-year old daughter likes to watch it with me. <3

Generation geezer here. When i saw ads for this show, I wanted to take it for a test drive. I see things I may have experienced in earlier life, with much simpler or no technology to confuse me more than i already was. Thanks for taking a chance, and I want to continue this ride, to see where it takes me.

Love the show because it shows the struggle to believe without making those who believe a joke.

Love this show. The goodness of the story line is refreshing. I am a 68 year old Boomer and Drama shows have been uninteresting for many years. So glad to see a positive message for a change. God is good!

I really liked this show. True, I’m GenX and not a millennial but the hopefulness of this show put a smile on my face. The cast is wonderful, especially the lead so I’m all in on this one.

Sometimes you can tell how good a show will be by counting how many times the review uses the word “premise”. A 5 premise show seems pretty iffy.
Well, it wasn't close between the two. Rooster Cogburn sold out quickly while Two Mules for Sister Sara will be arrive at my door on Friday. Rooster Cogburn will arrive Nov 20th at the earliest.
It's a John Wayne classic, with a leading lady that can hold her own with him. Not many have the screen presence to balance him. Maureen O'Hara was great with him b/c of that ability.
