Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
How about Major Nelson and Jeannie getting married? Show ended pretty soon after that. Kinda destroyed the sexual tension in the show which I think was part of its spark.

True for a lot of shows. Many are based on that tension between the man and woman, but after 4 or 6 or whatever years it begs the question why they haven't done anything about it. Theyr'e kinda stuck either way.
Trying to think of those that worked. Big Bang theory is one, where Penny and Leonard dated but then broke up but then married, and the show really didn't lose anything at all. The characters moved through time and grew up and got married and the show was still great.
I know on Castle that Nathan Fillian was against them getting together for exactly that reason. that and they really didn't like each other in real life. Series did fine with them together IMO, but it did change the dynamic.
On Cheers it didn't work, and a host of others.

As noted previously, on The Office, when Pam and Jim tied the knot, it lost a bit. Wasn't a jump the shark type thing but did lose a bit. Of course it was a natural progression and something the fans wanted. Now when Dwight married Angela.... the shark could have been the ring bearer
And lets not forget Luke and Laura!
Of course the biggest TV wedding disaster was Di and Charles

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Of course no TV wedding will match Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey.
And for Jumping the Shark...GoT did it the final season. What a waste

Do you think just because Luke and Laura were in search of a statue that contained the ice princess (the worlds largest diamond) and a formula for carbonic snow that the wicked and powerful Mikkos was going to use to freeze the town of Port Charles in his quest for world dominance warrants a “jump the shark” designation??
I was in college at the time in Jensen Beach, and we made sure we were home everyday between 3-4 to watch GH. We’d even leave the beach in order to get home in time for GH.

I think I can watch it on Amazon Prime or something. At one point I had it downloaded to my Droid TV app, but it was deleted when the provider decided that they did not have access to it. Other than sports, that's where I watch 99% of my TV.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Started watching the movie midway, really have enjoyed it so far.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Started Sneaky Pete and enjoying that one to this point.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Saw Wonder Woman 1984. I think there were better tv episodes back in the ‘70’s.

I’ve been watching Expanse on Amazon. SciFy drama set some time in the far off future, outer space has been colonized. Pretty good, great special effects...

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
I've started rewatching Scrubs, for some reason. It's been awhile since I've watched it--forgot how funny it is.
DW and I are watching Bridgerton, a Netflix series. It's like a very trashy Jane Austen novel.

Have been watching Sneaky Pete, pretty good.
It’s on Amazon prime.

Finishing up season 3 only 3 shows left.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Sick of winter already, so watching some movies set in warmer climates. Watched Couples Retreat*, set on a Pacific island, over the weekend and watched Crazy Rich Asians (Singapore) yesterday.
*--Mrs. BEvans and I love this movie. It's funny! Only got 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, but this is one of those movies where we think the critics are all wrong--well, 90% of them, anyway.

Okay, I am a sucker for TV movies with commercials. Saturday morning is really bad for that.
This morning, simultaneously or nearly simultaneously, I am Channel switching between the following:
A League of their Own
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Vacation
Sixteen Candles
Meet the Fockers
Also peeking in on the golf tournament in Hawaii, Georgia v Ole Miss basketball, and Premier League soccer.
I miss a lot lol.

Sometimes it can be fun to get some channel surfing going. That's one of the problems with cutting the cord.

It might have been a better decision to continue rather than settle on the Kentucky v Auburn game...

Ok, maybe too geeky for you guys..
Disney+ has a show called Lost Cities with Dr. Albert Lin. Basically using current technology to recreate lost cities etc. It is like Technology driven archeology. What adds to it is he is an amputee that does not let it stop him. Pretty cool if you are a geek like me.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
DW and I are watching a new PBS series, "All Things Great and Small," about a Yorkshire vet in the 1930s. On a 0-10 PBS scale, this one's hitting about a 9.4. :D But we're enjoying it.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Currently looking for my next series.
Finished sneaky Pete really enjoyed and hated that they cancelled it.

SciFy, great special effects, good story line set way way in the future where space is colonized with humans... as opposed to aliens from other planets.
