Just caught up on Homeland, great series, it’s worth a binge... eight seasons took me a couple of months to get through the first seven seasons.

All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
After all these years of watching James Bond films, somehow I missed this.
S - Special
E - Executive
C - Counter-Intelligence
T - Terrorism
R - Revenge
E - Extortion
...just caught it while watching Ursula Andres, uh, er, I mean Dr No.

Watching Apollo 13 on Starz right now. Need a little "America takes a bad situation & figures out a way" right now.

She did as much to launch that franchise as did Sean Connery. Her coming out of the surf in her entrance is some scene.

She was definitely hot, love the expression on Sean Connery’s face when she walked onto the beach.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Amazon Prime has Bond movies in 4K Ultra High definition available right now (they've done this before for a limited time and I'm not sure how long it will last). Watching Dr No right now. Scroll down to the 4K movies and you'll find it.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
BTW, there's a Bond spoof of Casino Royale starring Peter Sellers on HBO.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Im a fan of sci-fi. Netflix's Lost in Space is an extremely good take on the original. I really enjoyed it.
The Two Popes,
and the Irishman are ones I hope to watch.
But might suggest the 11.22.63 HULU mini series if you haven't seen it.

I watched the Irishman last night. IMO very entertaining, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino did a great job. Very interesting/plausible how they intertwined the stories surrounding the demise of Hoffa.

"World on Fire," a Masterpiece period drama set during WWII, premieres on PBS tonight.

Same for me except i just started Deadwood. The language and some situations are pretty racey. But the show itself is really interesting.
My dilemma is that I get that, Are you sure your not watching porn? look when Donna walks by. I may have to stop and switch to GOT.

It isn't much better as far as language and nekkiditity go; gut still some compelling tv.

I've never seen an episode of Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead. So you and me, Doc, at least on GoT.

Never seen Walking Dead either

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Zombie movies are forbidden around Donna and I. I dont get the obsession with such a tired subject.
Its like a fall back solution for writers block
-
Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
The walking dead and fear the walking dead are really not about the zombies they are more about the people and how they survive each day looking to the future and soon beyond the walking dead will start.

Heck, I didnt know the zombies were just support characters.
Kind of like Freddie was in "Nightmare" since the movie was more about the perils of sleep deprivation.

I loved Game of Thrones except for the finale. Seemed rushed, but I'll probably go back and watch the whole thing again sometime.

Never watched it. Not really on the list. Don't have time to get into something that deep. I'm already storing detailed files on Star Trek, Star Wars, Dune, Dr. Who, etc. My space is about full for such things.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
I have seen some of the Walking Dead. Well done show no doubt, but I didn't really want to jump in with both feet.

As you can tell I havent watched SC. Im finishing season two of Deadwood and concerned I'm actually becoming one of the characters.
It's either the best Western Ive ever seen, or a cesspool of filth, violence, dirty language, and unwarranted nudity and lasciviousness. I dont think I can make my mind up until I've watched every episode they can barf out.

For me it’s the best western I’ve ever seen “with” all of the other things you mentioned.
Gritty, I’d call it.

Tried Deadwood and never finished but sounds like I need to start it again.
Kicked off Hunters today.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
I'm making use of the free HBO Go/HBO Now this month and watching the last season of Silicon Valley, a Mike Judge comedy. That show cracks me up.

Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Watched 1917 this morning. A "Saving Private Ryan" from WWI. Had to watch with captions due to the english accents
-
Re: All Things Video Thread (Movie or TV)
Is Silicon Valley worth watching?

Schitt’s Creek is funny as hell once you get used to the low key, sardonic humor.

Which is a style perfect for Eugene Levy. No surprise it came from him and his son. SCTV was rife with such humor, and Levy was arguably the most low key of them all.
I haven't watched it, but it's on the list just to see how Levy does in it.

I think it's funny as hell but you have to like Mike Judge "Office Space"-type humor.

It was an amazing movie and the parallels with Saving Private Ryan were definitely there. And agreed on the subtitles. We watch a fair bit of PBS Masterpiece and we always watch it with subtitles because they don't speak American.
