BTW, I'm still looking for branded masks. When they come out with them, remember who had the idea first.

I only wear a mask in the bathroom....and it's not for coronavirus protection
Yes. I am a politician. So I always assume the avatar.
So on the way to work I stopped at a Thornton's to get a coffee and a breakfast sandwich.
I look up and a guy comes in wearing his mask--down around his neck.
I walk up to the cashier (behind plexiglass) and she's wearing her mask--covering her mouth and leaving her nose exposed.
Her co-worker standing next to her is wearing her mask--around one ear, the rest of it hanging down.
I wear a standard surgical mask while walking through our offices. I do not wear one in my vehicle. I wear on when walking on sidewalks or in public places..until I order food and drink and then I remove it.
Yes, I wear a mask when in a restaurant or in a grocery store. My daughter bought us some masks that have a pocket on the inside where you can put a cloth of some sort or a piece of paper towel to augment the cloth of the mask.
I really believe it doesn't matter whether you wear one or not, but since I retired I just want to be left alone and don't want to have to bitch slap some moron for yelling at me because I don't have a mask on while I'm shopping in Publix or Winn-Dixie or wherever.
Last reply August of 2020. Masks have become something for rioters to hide behind. I hate that.
My brother's in a hospital in Louisville right now with covid. He has a different but even more dire prior health condition reason to fear covid, and now he's in ICU. He should not have been disparaged for wearing a mask, or suspected of being antifa, etc.
I wear an N95 on the plane and in the airport. If I don't, I get sick a day after getting home. Go to a UK basketball game in Atlanta or Texas A&M? Covid. Concert in Bozeman? Covid.
So I don't need a shot it seems, my immune system won't respond. John has one lung.
The discussion back then revolved around health. Somehow I'd like to get it back to that.
5 yrs later and I still laugh.
If there is a legit reason, like Immune Suppression, then for God's sake, yes. If you fear there is some bug you could get, by all means. If you are along in your car...sure because we all need a good laugh. But don't ask or require me to do so except for certain medical situations like visiting an oncology ward.
But you are correct. Masks have become synonymous with rioters and antagonists. Too bad it isn't seen as cultural appropriation
I am so sorry bigsky.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time.
Thanks Pappy. His cousin decided and I confirmed to take him off the ventilator. He did not have an Advanced Directive and I guess it might prompt me to write one. Many things got him there, but covid>pneumonia was the last straw.
Sorry to hear this.
I really had hoped the Japanese approach would take hold here. If you're sick or just feel sick, wear a mask to stop the spread. Not defensive, but offense where you don't want to impact others. With the American view and self-focus we obviously failed mightily.
Quote function working, Citizen! Good job.
For a while there people did not go out or to work or shopping when they were sick. Or to restaurants!
But I think there's always been that jerk who sneezes directly into the Golden Corral buffet bar. I brought back the thread, here we are five year's older, to remind us the killer is still culling us, and people who wear masks may just be acting rationally. I do at times for both reasons, the 2nd you rightly remind us of.
