Dogwood bloom is a good time, but we always tried to start on or close to May Day (may 1st)

Interesting historic fact, people used to periodically mail children through the US postal service. Completely true. Not boxed, just walked them to the post office, paid the postage and mailed them. It was a very brief practice, and only 7 or so documented cases exist, but it was at the start of the USPS offering parcel post.
So if you can mail a baby you can mail a tree.
You may be able to mail a baby, and you may be able to mail a tree, and you can tune a piano....
I will note that, given the state of the modern postal system (public and private), if you mail a tree there's a good chance you'll end up with a lifetime supply of toothpicks at the other end.

Based on this Final Four the McDonald's diet isn't very healthy these days.
