14568 today, was moving a lot
Been horrible for over a month. Must be averaging less than 3000 a day, seriously.
Will have a good November. Have to.

Had a great October, but I really had to work at it to do so. Started out wanting to average above 15,000/day, 3 weeks in was averaging over 17,200 and wanted to finish at that level. Didn't quite happen as I had a below average last week of the month. Needed to do 24,000 on last day to make 17,000 and did 22,180 which gave me an average of 16,950/day. Already know numbers are going to be down significantly from that this month. Got vacations scheduled end of month around holiday, time change, weather cooling .... Will try to get started back at gym but we all know how that goes!
Didn't have a good Oct, but will get it back up in November. But I did lose another 3# so that part was good.
Bad weekend after a solid week. I had purchased a new pedometer but lost it after a couple of days, but I just tried again. I still have my first one, but the new one will automatically sync with an online account and give me more details.
Good day today in spite of not walking. Played my Sunday afternoon golf and got to 16479. World Series is over so back to walking at night. Would like to knock off another 10# by Christmas. In 3 weeks deer season starts so will get in a lot of steps but will eat too much.
Tues was good, not greT but good. 14786 and had a good long wAlk w/o the pain from night before. Plus talked to a good UK fan for over an hour while I walked. Baseball, bAsketball, politics, football, we talked about it
Had a pretty good start to the month but didn't get credit for it. I guess the pedometer in my phone doesn't record side stepping or something, not really sure. Spent 4.5 hours Saturday with a 25 lb backpack blower blowing leaves and had less than 10,000 steps total when I finished at 7:00. Did another 1.5 hours on Sunday with similar results. Those were my two lowest days with 10,400 and 11,100 but had 13-15,000 the other days. Was off today so I went to the park and jogged 2.5 miles then came home and cut grass so been big day with 24,500 for the day.
Not good today or yesterday, had eye surgery and basically down for 2 days
Better yesterday, hit so many off shots on the course I walked a lot :). 14011. Going to turn cold at night so walking will be hard to do for a few nights this week
Went to my cardiologist today for my annual and talked to him about our steps challenge. He told me 10,000 was the min I needed each day and was glad for my walking, weight loss and how many steps I take
Came home and walked but had to cut short with my back hurting badly. I really need a massage to work some knots out. Ended with only 9347 for the day
Good deal on both fronts Jazy, sounds like a good checkup and now you can see where you're going! Have had a pretty solid week/weekend 12,637, 16,096, 12,491, 12,253 and 19,477 tonight. Wife has had back/leg issues most of summer but starting to come out of it so we went to the mall and walked Thursday and today. Haven't done the stair for a week or so, pulled something a little when I ran last week so have laid off of them since.
Got a copy of the Focus T-25 workout (Shaun T from Insanity fame and part of Beach Body). 25-minute workouts 5 days a week. Did the 1st workout this evening. Looks pretty good, similar to Insanity but not quite as long and not quite as intense. Difference is less intense but no breaks, 25-minutes solid where Insanity went back and forth between intense/lighter with a water/rest break between sets. 10-week program that steps it up a level every 3 weeks. Going to try to do it. If I could stay with it it would take me right up to business convention/cruise 2nd week of February so that's going to be my goal/motivation. Will let you know how it's progressing on here too to try to keep me on task!
Get after it Ash. Wish I could do something like that but with my back, not possible. I have to walk, stretch, golf, hunt for my real exercise plus keep moving st work. I actually get some physical work during the day lifting boxes and such
Keep us informed
13121 yesterday; first time over 10,000 in over a month. Easy to make excuses. Off from teaching the 5 pm class yesterday for Veteran's Day, so took son to soccer practice, ran 5.1 miles during practice.
I have had very few days over 6,000 steps, which was my goal to make sure I did as a floor each and every day. I have gained weight (will find the thread and post on it). I do not want to end 2013 over 200 pounds after working so hard to get under it temporarily. I'm back on the bus.
Good job Darrell, surprised you could go 5 miles after laying off. Now keep it up
I was stiff after sitting just a few minutes last night. Took two tylenol before I went to bed. Understand, I do "old man" running--it's a slow jog on the flat parts, walk up the hills or loose or uneven terrain. Took close to 90 minutes.
Definitely not a good job in being sedentary that long. I HAVE to keep this up. I have to go walk tonight if I don't run by the gym today.
By the way--it is noon. I have worked at home today with no appointments, and nobody else at home besides me.
My steps from 6:30 a.m. when I awoke til noon?
550.
Very hard for me to get steps without effort. It certainly doesn't come normally.
Have had a good week this week. 26,289 Tue, 16,065 Wed, 15,733 Thu and 18,204 today. Did the Focus T-25 workouts every day till today. Worked 16 hrs at the mill today so didn't feel like doing it at 10 tonight. Did do stairs at work for 1st time this month so that helped. T-25 is 5 days a week so will try do tomorrow to make up for today.
Was doing a little better and planned on walking tonight as it is warm but my hip and leg are in a lot of pain so I ice packed it. Did some stretching when I got home, didnt help much.
Walked last 3 nights, not a good pace and couldn't go up hills as it really hurt my hip and leg, but at least I got thru it for 1.4 miles each night getting my steps over 11,000 each day. I have a nerve being pinched in my right hip that hurts while standing. It is probably a result of those two discs in my low back that are ruptured, really don't want that surgery again
Had a pretty good week last week for steps. Kept the average over 16,000 (low of 11,300 and high of 22,600) for the week and at 16,500 for the month still. Haven't done the T-25 since Sunday, to busy a week getting ready for vacation. Wife and I are on 30-year anniversary honeymoon at Waikiki (went to Lexington on our honeymoon for the weekend when we got married) so this was a surprise for her. Didn't know till we got to the airport in Cincinnati and was checking in) I'm getting ready to go for a run along the beach and hope to do that every day. I'm sure there will be a lot of walking while we're here so expect the numbers to hold up rest of the month.
Jayzd, I feel your pain to a certain extent. Haven't dealt with a ruptured disk but have had the pain while standing/sitting in my hip like you're dealing with. Back in the spring I felt back tightening up one evening (for no apparent reason) and got up for work the next morning and literally had to roll out of the bed. Hobbled to work and it took me 20-minutes to change my clothes in the locker room cause I couldn't bend over to take off/get my boots on. Was really hobbled for about a week and it took about 2 months for it to fully recover but haven't had any issues since.
Thanks Ash. The pain comes and goes. Today at Lowes it hit and I had a hard time standing, grabbed something and lifted my leg off the floor and lasted about ten minutes and poof it stopped as it lifted off the nerve. I may go to get an injection to see if it will calm it down, if not then surgery will be in order.
Last weekend I did get a lot of steps in, opening of deer season. Walked a lot and just dealt with the pain, at times just stopped and bent over. Pain pills don't dent it at all. Got 13247 on Friday, 12793 on Saturday and 11469 on Sunday. Yesterday was 10937 and today was 9853.
I sit on a ice pack at night trying to numb the muscles
Wednesday was rough at work, hurt a lot during the day, kept an ice pack in my waist on my back much of the day. It really didn't calm down much until I had my third pain pill later that night plus ice pack at home. But didn't do much yesterday except rake some leaves for the two granddaughters to play in, and they had a ball, and put up a few lights but mostly took it easy. A little better last night and again this morning. Hope it stays that way at work today.
Jazy, you make me feel so guilty the way you fight through the pain to get your steps in... More on your worst days than I get on my best, normally. But don't overdo it, please. Take care of yourself too.

Thanks Darrell, it's better last few days really eased up. Did some walking at deer camp but didnt pick anything up. I did have to drag my 7 pt about 60 yards to get him out of the woods before it got dark. Drag a little, rest, drag, rest. Didnt clean though :). Going to try to walk tomorrow night with this warm weather. Darrell I feel sluggish now if I don't get some steps in plus I feel I am cheating myself
Finished the month with a 17,440 average. Had a good week at the beach with two days over 33,000 and two days over 22,000. Finished month with first two days since last weekend in September under 10,000 with 5 & 6,000's two of the last three days. Too much travel those days, got back into Cincinnati from Hawaii and then drove to Gatilinburg Thanksgiving then came home on Saturday. Better month than I expected to have.
Starting out slow this month, think I'm still recovering from the trip somewhat with just 6,500 yesterday and about 11,000 today. Try to get it going again tomorrow!
Sill impressed with your determination Jazy with all your back issues. Keep up the fight!
Good job on vacation Ashcat. It was warm last night so I walked, slow pace and had to stop a few times and stretch but I got in 4278 steps on that walk so got up to 10,398 for the day. Sat and Sunday both over 10,000 but not great exercicise because I am moving slow. Made a big mistake this morning waiting for my granddaughter to get here. Back felt better so I raked some leaves, huge mistake:). Will lay for that all day
