Do you know what you call a wreath made of $100 dollar bills?

Had tons of trick or treaters but my wife bought so much candy the basket is still half full.
I finally got the last of the Halloween decorations taken down and stored away. I don’t have any Thanksgiving decor other than a door wreath, so I get to rest until the day after Thanksgiving, then the Christmas stuff goes up.

Snow in the forecast, albeit flurries.

We’re probably going to get our first frost tomorrow night, only about three weeks late.
Updated to dusting w/ possibility of light accumulation. Not sure of the difference.

You just never know.
As I was in the dawn of my kids' middle school PTO days, soon to migrate to Athletic Board in high school with my youngest, a young lady joined and invigorated the PTO board with youthful exuberance. Well, certainly young compared to me, close to two decades.
For the last couple of years, she and her husband supported the school's academics, athletics, and the arts. Just really good people.
The husband would do athletics with his sons. Fast forward a few years, and the dentist was training to run a marathon with his son. He's 50 now.
Last week he was at their lake house near Auburn, where he had a second practice. His wife called and he didn't answer. He ALWAYS answered. Always.
Instinctively she knew something was wrong and called the police to do a welfare check. They arrived and found him dead on his treadmill.
No bad eating, drinking or smoking habits. Father lived to 92. No signs of any problems.
I mean... I hear about these things but you almost think there had to be something missing. There wasn't.
Didn't want to start a thread on this, just wanted to say it somewhere so I thought I'd tuck it here and hope somebody would quickly post about their lawn or the first snow or clothes or anything.
Sorry Darrell. This is why I try to enjoy every skiff of snow. You never know when it might be your last.
How about this feel good story?

I hope you can see it. It's a great little video that will make you smile.
FWIW i'm not planning on it but don't be shocked if I don't suddenly drop dead within a year of finally retiring (which is a ways off). would be just my luck. Or my other half finally came to her senses and just finished me off, that's always possible too.

Got home this evening and Grammy greeted me to the smell of a big old pot of soup beans, a big old knock of cornbread AND when I am about to have a running spell, she advises me that she stopped and got me a 1/2 gallon of my favorite buttermilk as well...
That is when I got paranoid and ask her what she had heard from the doctor...
I'll be spending some time on the treadmill for the cornbread and the buttermilk.
Company Christmas Party tonight. Cant wait to see who ends with the lampshade on their head…

Classic.
As long as it's not you, and make sure you get photos for "leverage "...
No photos, here’s a little back story. The company I work for is a fifth generation continuous operating MFG company. The fourth generation (2 brothers) have retired and sold the company to the 5th generation ( one of the brother’s son). The new fifth generation owner does not have a family member to share the business with and did not want to assume the financial exposure on his own. We have merged with another fifth generation continuous MFG company with three other facilities.
The Christmas party had a blend of the four different business under the same umbrella and all their employees all with plus 1 options.
An employee from the facility that I have worked for, for 26 years wore the lampshade.

Twilight anesthesia is weird. I had a procedure on my eyelids a couple days ago, but woke up, halfway through it and could feel the doctor working away. I could her and the nurses talking and even needed to answer some questions (like how are you?”) during it while just lieing there neither fully conscious nor unconscious, or so it seemed.
It didn’t hurt Andi remember it, but it was still a surreal experience.
Flounder, I had 3 eye surgeries a couple of years ago, all outpatient, and all with what the doctor called the "don't care" anesthesia. I remembered what was going on during the procedure, and apparently talked so much my doctor told me to shut up during it.
Go figure--me talking a lot. Who woulda thunk that?

Ironic double post :671:
lol.

Hey, I thought the eye surgery went well.

You didn't tell him about that thing you got me out of that time did you? Not that they would believe that they would believe 5 people, a dwarf and a horse would fit in a Motel 6 room, and no way they'd believe a successful vet and the mayor of a large western city would be involved, but still best to keep the records sealed IMO.
Oh, and no more "meet ups" at these things by KSR people for me.
I ordered a little industrious insect from NASA, just back from an experiment on the space station. It was $500.
I thought to myself, That’s a little ex-orbit ant. It’s worth it.
Rainy start to the week before Christmas 20+ degrees to warm for snow…

Son came home last night from school, met him at home, drove to the gym, where he and I and 12 other players played basketball from 7 to 9:30 p.m. last night.
I do a lot of things that are enjoyable, but this is one of my absolute favorites.
My last leaf harvest was completed on Saturday, and based on the looks of the current radar image, I am very happy as those leaves would have gotten a good soaking today had they still been lying on the ground, and I despise working with soggy leaves.
Good thing. You might have become one of the Soggy Bottom Boys.
Although I’m sure you’re bona fide.

Christmas Eve, and I'm shooting baskets at the intermediate school outside goals. No kids in sight. Times have changed...
I got a wild hair and made a last minute decision to crash my daughter’s house in VA Beach… instead of calling in on face time Christmas Eve to judge the gingerbread house building contest, I got to do it live this year
Day two…exhaustion is setting in.

I work in a small office. We have 9 people who work here. Our office is open today and tomorrow.
8 of us are out today. Apparently I'm the office.
15 points tonight. I think I was scoreless last Sunday night. Think I was fired up about seeing UK play Tuesday.
