I never would've guessed this bigsky...... usually when you think of drunks, you think about places like Wisconsin, or anywhere along the sandy beaches and coastlines of Florida, not Montana.
A good saloon in every single town. Thomas and his partner are good friends. I cut the ribbon to open their distillery.
I was always amazed at the alcohol culture here since I arrived in 1975.
Alcohol selling licenses are controlled by the state, something that just makes each one worth $1M or more. But the spread of breweries (that close at 8pm and have a three beer limit) has broken that delusion of limiting alcohol access. Three 6-8% pints and I’d be stone drunk. People go to one brewery and then another. The “Women who Wine” social groups, literally the name of a movement.
Embarrassing.
I'm like Cartman on eating when it comes to drinking. No Starvin' Marvin, these are the appetizers. They're what you eat before you eat to make you more hungry. ;)
I actually tried that once, in Memphis btw. Didn't go well. By the end of the night I was eating some very questionable tamales (why are tamales so big in Memphis anyway), and thinking they were the best thing I'd ever eaten. that happens when you have 3-4 drinks before dinner b/c you aren't terribly excited about the company, then drink all through dinner, then go out after. Yeah, not the best plan. It did make the company a lot more palatable though.
