ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas thinks Kentucky’s Archie Goodwin, the second youngest player in tonight’s draft, has the ability to play in the NBA.
“I think Archie is a good talent that had a tough year,” Bilas said. “He is not a great shooter. He is good in transition, good athletically and good off the dribble, but he is not a point guard. When they tried him at that position, it was difficult for him. He did not meet expectations everybody had for him, but that does not mean he is not a good prospect.
“In the old days a guy could have a rough freshman year and turn out to be a great player. He can and will get better. I have him slated at the top of the second round. He is talented enough to be a first-round draft pick. He is a good enough prospect that has a chance.”
