  • Can Kentucky Football Bump up to the High Water Mark in 2022

    By: LONNY DEMAREE

There are many changes taking place in college football. Will the Kentucky Wildcats get caught up in the malaise? The major topic wrapped up in this malaise is the NIL with the transfer portal being a sub topic but every bit as big in a different lane.

The schools that don't figure it out and what the end game is going to be will be left behind. There is the pooling method for the smaller schools meaning those school join together to combat the major powers.

We believe the Wildcats have the talent to seriously bump up to the top dogs. In others words the NIL is going to be governed via wins. The possibility is better this season than ever since 1950. And I'm one that believes that everything that goes around comes around. The teams that have a top notch quarterback is worth 8-wins from the start. Then the addition of quality parts surround him. The clock is ticking for the Wildcats or should I say the hour-glass. In keeping up with the NIL and the addition of Texas and OKlahoma which would bring about realignment. Right now UK has the easiest road with Geogia at the top of the East. The West is different with the most competition.

The transfer portal has been good for the Cats and they lassoed some excellent players for the coming season, Tayvion Robinson, Tashaun Manning, and as of now Darrian Henry-Young. Kentucky has a difficult road schedule but hey have eight home games.

Back to the NIL.The state of Kentucky is BLUE from Belfry to Paducah meaning it's a a powerful big blue interest and the NIL could be an all in entity.
