Sidebar Notes on Film Study Over the Summer

Spring practice is a time to see who can play and into the summer film study by the coaches will further enhance what players have to work on. As Justin Riggs said the difference this year is a lot of film study.

* Eric Wolford is working extremely hard in an attempt to find the backup to Quinton Wilson at the center spot - Big Young; David Wohlabaugh Jr.; Luke Fortner; and Deondre Buford. Working many combinations and cross-training.

* Josh Ali continues to shine

* If you had to pick who had the better day it would be close with defense edging out the offense. Each had their moments.

* Sam Anaele looks like a SEC player.

* Both quarterbacks looked good today. Beau Allen was much improved over last weeks scrimmage.

* Justice looked good today as well as Octavious Oxendine.

* The defensive line will easily go six or seven deep.

* Chauncey Magwood flashed real big today and is a true receiver will serious skills.

* Defensive tackle Isaiah Gibson is a player to watch. Source say jager Burton who played a lot on both side of the offensive line, gave him a rude welcome both physically and vocally to SEC football.

* La'Vell Wright is a can't miss running back. Those that watch him play say he is a stud that has tremendous hands. His ball skills are off the chart.

* He caught a pass today from Joey Gatewood looking back over his shoulder like a bigtime wide receiver would. As was previously surmised, Wright is a George Adams clone.

* Tae Tae Crumes played Monopoly today. He dropped a pretty pass from Allen with no one around and did not pass Go, and did not collect $200. He made a bee-line straight to the sideline. Some say Allen would have been sacked in live competition, but nevertheless!

* When Stoops delivered the bad news about De'Eryk Jackson (Achilles) , he express his sympathy and some chagrin. Then he continues along his next man up path and that they had that man either on campus or on the way.
