  • No. 13 Kentucky Softball Picked Fifth in SEC By League Coaches

    Wildcats start season on Feb. 12 vs. Samford

    LEXINGTON, Ky. – The No. 13 Kentucky Softball team was picked to finish fifth by the Southeastern Conference coaches in the annual preseason poll, it was announced on Thursday afternoon.

    The No. 8/8 Alabama Crimson Tide was picked to win the SEC, receiving nine of the 13 first-place votes. No. 5/5 LSU received a pair of first place votes, No. 7/6 Florida tallied one first place vote, along with (RV) Tennessee.

    Kentucky begins the 2021 season on Feb. 12 on the road at Samford for a three-game series against the Bulldogs in Homewood, Alabama.

    Points for the poll were awarded on a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12 basis. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.*

    The 2021 SEC Softball Tournament is slated for May 12-15 at Rhoads Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

      It really is. Some great softball being played in the SEC. But it also tells you that you could finish 5th in the SEC, and potentially be a NCAA title contender. That might be stretching it a little, but not much.
