I enjoyed reading an article about the Top 101 players of 2020 from Pro Football Focus (PFF), which grades every player on every play during the season.
Took a moment to analyze the 14 teams in the SEC and see how they did among the top 101 players.
Alabama -- ridiculous. Absurd. What a season. They had an incredible SEVEN (7) players in the top 101 (all of them in the top 51!). They had an unbelievable 5 of the top 19 players in the country. No wonder they had a record-breaking season.
Florida had a nice run of 3 players in the top 101, with # 4, 20 and 44. That tied with....
Kentucky for the only other SEC school with more than 2 players. Kentucky also had 3 players in the Top 101: Darian Kinnard, # 41, Drake Jackson, # 57, and Chris Rodriguez, # 71.
Folks, multiply 85 scholarship players times the number of D1 college football teams, and it tells you how elite the top 100 is. INCREDIBLY elite.
