  • Mark Stoops and staff are Prepping for a Positive Finish

    By: LONNY DEMAREE

Stoops expressed regrets for the release of Derik Mason at Vanderbilt University.

He also said it is going to strange Will Muschamp over on the sideline Saturday. "I really like Will (Muschamp)," Stoops said. "It's going to be different getting ready for South Carolina and not seeing Will over there."

Stoops said Saturday was a lot like the week before.

He said they want to send these seniors out the right way. "

This has been a rough three-week stretch for us with the Covid-19. "Seems like all the other teams got hit early," Stoops said. "It hit us late as opposed to the other team in our league. We did all the right things to protect our players.

At the Zoom-session today when a question was asked Stoops with the word luck interjected, Stoops paused and pondered. He said - "What luck"? As if to accurately say, we haven't had any luck.

The player J.J. Weaver that was playing better than anybody on the defense suffered an ACL injury Saturday. Stoops said he confident Weaver would be back for next season because he is that type of worker.

Now with Kelvin Joseph opting out, two of the best playmakers out of the SC game the hits just keep on coming. But as I always say "NEXT MAN UP".

Stoops said they (coaches) would like to play in a bowl. "But we need to check the temperature of the team," Stoops said "We don't want to get into the game half-hearted."
