  • Junior ILB Jamin Davis looking to improve on big jump last season

As everyone knows, Jamin Davis took a big jump last year down the stretch with his play. He was interviewed today after the scrimmage and had these comments.

*he does not feel much pressure on himself this year, but wants to be a vocal leader (at times). He said that his confidence grew a lot last year and he was not playing robotic down the stretch.

*Jamin gave a lot of credit to Kash Daniel last year for his improvement in play, along with Jamin's work in practice and his success on the field growing his confidence.

*Jamin talked about his relationship with DeAndre Square and how he, DeAndre and Chris all clicked chemistry wise. He said there chemistry has always been good and they are all ready to take Kentucky to the next level.

*The biggest challenge in playing linebacker in the SEC is that everything is so fast-paced. Jamin said that the key to that was to stay inside the playbook, stay crisp in the meeting room, and let your confidence grow.

*The whole team is playing for Chris Oates this year. They know that football can be taken from them in a moment. Everybody is playing for 22.

*he has taken D'eryk Jackson and Marquez Bembry under his wing. He said that he's not the real rock guy like cash Daniel, but he tries to lead by example. He said he doesn't mind stepping up and saying something when it needs to be said, though.

*Jared Casey has taken a big jump with his game. He said he needs to just keep his eyes right and stay crisp in the playbook.
