LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 9 seed Kentucky swept Southeast Missouri 3-0 on its home floor in the first round of the NCAA Championship on Friday at Memorial Coliseum.
With wins of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-19, the Wildcats move to 24-6 (16-2 Southeastern Conference) on the year. SEMO ends the season at 23-11 (12-4 Ohio Valley Conference).
Back-to-back SEC Player of the Year Leah Edmond led the Cats with a game-high 18 kills and four digs.
Kentucky advances to the tournament's second round, hosting Michigan (21-10, 13-7 Big Ten Conference) on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
