  • Mark Stoops Distraught Lack of Fo-(Cus) in Scrimmge

    By: LONNY DEMAREE

Mark Stoops to say the least was very unhappy with today's and the team's first fall scrimmage. Stoops said it was overall disappointment with what he saw on both sides of the football. "It's not what we are looking for from this team," the coach said. It's easy to see the dire nature of the performance due to the veterans he has back with the team.

The players were equally disappointed in their play. Not being there to watch practice they said their sessions have been far better than their performance today.

Jervontious "Bunchy" Stalling said that today it was definitely a lack of focus. Stoops would have a better was of describing it when he would likely say a lack of Fo-(Cus). He experienced one of those days back in the spring and through some focusing, some cajoling, some castigating, and some film watching the team came out the next scrimmage and showed what they were made of. These coming just before the spring game and that gave Stoops something positive to look forward to this fall. And then this so it would be likely that off camera he could be spewing expletives.

To be fair a couple of key pieces were not out on the field for the scrimmage. Those being Benny Snell with strained calf muscle and AJ Rose who had to go home for a funeral.

    One Thing of Note
Freshman running back Chris Rodriquez had a run late in the scrimmage in which he carried about four or five people on his back. The source exuberantly said "We have our next Benny Snell."
