Gameday: Kentucky v Auburn SEC Tournament Baseball

I know it's early, but let's go ahead and get this started. First game of the day will have first pitch in about 20 minutes, and Kentucky and Auburn will compete after that game concludes. Expect it to be approximately 2 p.m. eastern time. Current radar is attached. The Hoover Met is just to the west of that blue dot. The weather is going mostly North, North NorthWest.

I expect to be at the Met at approximately 1 p.m. today. I have guaranteed that it will be a gray rainy day, as I misplaced my makeshift laptop hood from last year, and went to the store this morning to buy another one. That will guarantee I won't have to use it.

There have been a couple of balls sharply hit off Hjelle, but I don't remember seeing more poor swings by the opponent all year. They are guessing at him and he's keeping them way off balance.

Computer died in middle of long post. Story of the day.

Leadoff hit by Auburn in the 7th and batter can't figure out how to put the bat on the ball to bunt against Hjelle. Then grounds into 6-4-3 double play. Another hit and Hjelle may be getting tired. Something to watch.

In the top of the 7th (my computer post didn't take), Cats got a two out walk and then thrown out stealing.

Auburn strikes out, ball gets away from Squires but he throws him out.

Auburn closer is ready. He threw a lot of pitches in back-to-back games against LSU, including in a game they had a 10-run lead, so maybe he isn't at full strength.

Has done that for both teams. Then he calls a ball on something like that last pitch. Can't figure him out.

Hjelle in control still. Fans first batter (Auburn leadoff hitter). Fans second batter on an excuse me swing. Slow motion swing on strike 2. Barely fouls the next pitch.

Great job by Dawson of getting the bunt down, and Rodriguez to 3rd.

Pompey up. Surely Kentucky won't squeeze. Mingione calls everyone together but I don't see it.
