  • Kentucky Athletics Offers Black Friday Ticket Deals at Fayette Mall

    Specially priced tickets for select events; Kroger Holiday Special all week

    LEXINGTON, Ky. – Shoppers in search of the best Black Friday deals later this week at Fayette Mall will have an opportunity to buy specially priced tickets to upcoming UK Athletics events. Tickets to select football, men’s and women’s basketball, and gymnastics events will be on sale Friday. In conjunction with Kroger, UK Athletics is also separately offering specially priced tickets for all three men’s basketball games during Thanksgiving Week through the Kroger Holiday Special.

    UK Athletics’ Black Friday ticket deals are as follows:

    · Football – $40 200-level tickets to the Louisville game on Saturday (originally $60-$80)
    · Men’s basketball – $20 200-level tickets to UK-Illinois-Chicago on Nov. 26 (originally $32); $30 200-level tickets to UK-Harvard on Dec. 2 (originally $57)
    · Women’s basketball – $2 general admission tickets to Tennessee, South Carolina and LSU games in Rupp Arena (originally $5-8)
    · Gymnastics – $2 general admission tickets to Excite Night on Jan. 5 (originally $5-8)

    These tickets offers will be exclusively available at Fayette Mall guest services location beginning at 6 a.m. and until 10 a.m., or while supplies last. Only cash will be accepted. Fans should stay tuned to UKathletics.com for Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday opportunities.

    Tickets to Kentucky men’s basketball games vs. Troy on Monday at 8 p.m., Fort Wayne on Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Illinois-Chicago on Sunday at 6 p.m. are available for $25 apiece for 200-level seats through the Kroger Holiday Special. Tickets will be available in person only at the Joe Craft Center and Rupp Arena ticket offices to fans who mention the Kroger Holiday Special.

      This may be the first admission by UK that college tickets are vastly over priced. Once again MB offers a deal to the general public and not to the season ticket holders.

      I know it does not surprise you. I still say any SEC school that raises any tickets should have their AD lose their income for a year. The SEC network dropped $30 million a year into their laps, explain why they have to raise any ticket prices. Other than greed.

      throw in MB is lousy at marketing, he probably took marketing classes under a certain someone.

      Skip, I have to wonder if the drop in ticket sales has been accelerated by brokers no buying blocks of tickets in the same volume as before. It is one thing to speculate on tickets when demand exceeds supply. But when demand begins to soften, brokers backaway quickly.

      It is one thing for ticket sales to fall off. It’s another when the sales drop by 20%+
