      McNeill singles to leadoff the B4th and Pompey one-hops a double off the CF wall, but McNeill gunned at plate.

      Zach Reks singles into CF with two strikes, scoring Pompey.
      Kentucky leads 1-0, B4th. Reks is 4-for-6 in 2016.

      I think so. He was one of Canada's leading MLB prospects. I think he was drafted lower than he wanted, so it was Kentucky's gain.

      IIRC Pompey was drafted in the 19th round.

      After a Carson flyout and another Evan White strikeout (man, he's struggling), JaVon Shelby doubled.

      McNeil singled home Shelby for a 2-0 lead, and then followed by our boy Pompey and a triple for a 3-0 lead.

      In the top of the 7th, and Dayton doubles to lead off the inning. Cody has had a tremendous game so far, 6.0 innings of two-hit ball, 7 strikeouts, 1 walk. Now 3 hits. Nice ob of hitting. Cody was ahead 0-2, two straight fouled off, two balls, and laced the next delivery over the CF head.

      Groundout for out #1, runner moves to 3rd. UK would give up a run for an out here.

      Strikeout swinging for out # 2, and strikeout # 8 on the day for Cody. Cody wasn't willing to trade a run for an out, was he?

      Flyout for out # 3.

      Headed to the bottom of the 7th (UK is home team, obviously):

      Kentucky 3 (11 hits)
      Dayton 0 (3 hits)

      JaVon Shelby with a long home run to open the 7th and extend Kentucky's lead to 4-0. He's ripping the ball to start the season; his 5th extra base hit already. I think he's batting around .650. Preseason All-SEC, All-American if you ask me.

      I'm headed out, you guys keep the lead for the Cats.

      UK up 4-0.
