Head coach Mark Stoops invited the media to fire away with question it might have that they felt needed to answered. First question was what his plan was for the quarterback position depth having had two scholarship quarterbacks that have transferred. He said they have one on scholarship, one that will enroll mid-term, and working on adding another. Stoops this is a results oriented game and they were far less than satisfied with the final results. I wasn't pleased with the direction and leadership on that side of the ball, Stoops said when referring to the offense. I didn't think we were able to execute in critical situations.
In addressing the red-shirts that will step in at the linebacker position Stoop talked about Nebraska transfer Courtney Love and De'Niro Laster. The coach said: The leadership that Love brings and De'Niro on the scout team. He said Laster was a explosive player on the scout team. He's a violent guy and he's going to be a welcome addition. Stoops said he will promote secondary coach Derrick Ansley to co-defensive coordinator but he made it clear that didn't entail a demotion of D. J. Eliot and Eliot will call the plays.
