No, we are not ready to pick a season record for the Wildcats but let have a little fun making some observations for the 2014 Wildcats.
* A great Mark Stoops hire to replace Bradley Dale Peveto.
* Craig Naïver was hire for the safties and special teams coach.
* When is the last time UK had a kickoff or punt return for a touchdown?
* Derek Abney is 2002 was vote as the Special Team Player of the Year. He had seven returns for touchdowns for his career.
* Who will be the next UK player to hit paydirt with a return?
* Lets go with Ryan Timmons. T. V. Williams has the same type of ability.
* What is the Wildcat defense called the "Two Minute Warning."
* Junior college transfer A. J. Stamps said that Coach Naiver cranks up super loud music in the meeting room two minutes before the defensive backfield meeting. This meaning you had better be in your seat when the meeting starts. "He comes in yelling over the unidentifiable music," Stamps said.
* Who has a third-eye on the coaching staff?
* Again Stamps said - "You know when you have messed up on a play and you can rest assure Naiver is on his way."
* The most impressive player on the defensive side this spring.
* Coach D. J. Eliot didn't hesitate the name A.J. Stamps. "He make few mistakes but when he does he never makes the same one twice," Explained Eliot.
* Who will be the comeback player of the year?
* With a doubt it will be running back Josh Clemons. Clemons since his freshman has been side lined by a knee injury and was looking good in fall practice last season and sustained an Achilles tendon injury. Coach Chad Scott seems to think that Clemons is the complete package in that he can run inside or out, he can block well, and catches the ball well out of the backfield.
* Who will be the offensive spring game star?
* Like last years spring game Rashad Cunningham will be the star. Cunningham lead the receivers with the most catches with eight catches for 80-yards and a touchdown. At 6-foot-4, 222-pounds he has the size to be a punishing blocker.
* This has to be a record for Wildcat players and coaches that are addresses by initials.
* The cats have A. J. Stamps - A.J Lagree who just left the team - D. J. Warren - C. J. Johnson - J. D. Harmon - and Coach D. J. Eliot.
* Potentially the most improved offensive and defensive players for 2014.
* Linebacker Josh Forrest on the defense and offensive center Jon Toth.
* Interception output for the defensive.
* The interception output has been anemic with a total of five for the last two seasons. The Wildcat will triple last seasons total of three.
* Who will lead the SEC in fumble recoveries in 2014?
* The UK Wildcats will once again lead the conference in fumble recoveries as they did in 2013.
* Who will be the starting Quarterback for 2014?
* That's a big $64,000 dollar question. But Neal Brown said the spring game will carry a lot of weight in making a much quicker decision than last season.
* What coaches have the widest grins on their faces?
* Defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh because he feels he has something in the cooker. And Chad Scott because he has what he termed as a "Stable" of backs that he feels can outrun the cooker.
