If you look at the people who support Obama, and then you look at the people who support him actively and give money, the number of people who care about climate in this second group is actually a majority — not out of the people who support him, but the people who are really active and give money. It’s an enormously high percentage … If those people decided that he was no longer somebody who’s worth supporting, even though he doesn’t have to run again, it would be terrible for him.

I think we have an answer

The president, in an interview Saturday with the New York Times, repeated his position that the administration’s decision will be “based on whether or not this is going to significantly contribute to carbon in our atmosphere.”

However, he also took a swipe at what he described as the Republicans’ argument that Keystone would be a “big jobs generator.”

“There is no evidence that that's true,” Obama said, arguing the best estimate is 2,000 initial construction jobs followed by no more than an additional 100 jobs. The newspaper's transcript of the interview showed Obama chuckling as he made the point.

“That is a blip relative to the need,” he said.

His estimate is significantly lower than his own State Department’s projection of 42,000 constructions jobs and way smaller than the 118,935 that project developer TransCanada expects.

2,000 jobs to build a pipeline from the top of the country to the bottom? What is that estimate, by COUNTY?

He just makes this stuff up completely, and the media reports it as fact and never questions it, and then in the mind of the unsuspecting it's "the truth".

Of course when he spent trillions on infrastructure like pipelines, those jobs weren't dismissed as "temporary" or a drop in the bucket of what we need.

Can there have been ANY DOUBT that it is his personal mission to destroy America from within, by any and all means possible?

A genuine American POTUS would not have given approval a second thought, it would have just been done. Just think of all the jobs that are being lost because of the game playing, not to mention the most important thing in all of this being the millions in dollars in tax revenue.

I'm guessing that Warren Buffett is one of his billionaire supporters that doesn't want the pipeline completed either...because the pipeline would eliminate the need for all the BNSF trains hauling oil south on the rail line along the Mississippi River every day.

I have very little doubt remaining.

I'm sure he has a vision of America that he thinks he is helping. The problem is that America has nothing to do with the reasons America was founded nor the goals that were set out for it. Not a single damned thing.

he views us as a deeply flawed nation and people, "clinging to our guns and religion", and has nothing but contempt for the core values of individual liberty upon which and for which this nation was founded. He is intent on destroying those values as much as possible, making us as dependent on and under control of government as possible so as to make it possible to implement his core values upon the People.
