Lots of media folks seem to be very impressed by his size, athleticism, and play-making at practice. Sounds like he's going to be the impact player a lot of people thought he would be.

We need a few other that pass the look test and the play test. LoL

The "name test" also seems to be important. You hear the name Za'Darius Smith and you just think "That sounds like an SEC kid." :p

Can't help but think that he and Hatcher will have a major impact on the defense. If the secondary and LBs can be adequate, we will see a major improvement in the defense.

The LB's have been okay the last couple of years, but the D-line has been horribly inconsistent & our DB's have been bad, especially with their tackling.
This is just one aspect of the Kentucky game that absolutely has to change so we can be a better football team/program.

With the talent around him he should be shining....Minters D was more cheese whiz than exotic

By all accounts it was the most complicated brand of cheese whiz ever.

Smith is the SEC type of LB/safety type of player the Cats haven't fielded since Johnson, and I think he'll be better. It's good to get some SEC size/speed on that side of the ball if uk is going to flip this ship right.

I think you meant DE not LB/S - Smith is a 6'6" 265 DE - nobody is going to confuse him for a LB or Safety :-)

Man, would that be a safety....
